Overall great — definitely read the instructions before figuring out how to fully operate

ETA — most of what I initially said was inconsistent turned out to be user error on my part. (I didn’t understand that you could not use split modes throughout the entire house.) Bear that in mind when using! For example, we live in New England and quite often the temperatures can fluctuate quite a bit within one day, especially during certain seasons. So I’ll save you the trouble from digging through the instructions like I had to — ***You cannot use heat AND cooling at the same time in different zones.*** You’d have to shut off one and turn on the other. Aside from that, the system works great. I even find that the App gets us more accurate output over the remotes. Overall very happy with it. Just takes some getting used to / has a learning curve to operate to its full capabilities. When the app works, it’s great - but unfortunately I have to say that it is inconsistent at best. The times that the temperatures have either risen or dipped within my children’s rooms where I have wanted to modify the temperature settings in some way, the App seems to be glitchy or unavailable or showing the zones as in “standby” and I’m not able to override it or correct it except to physically go in the room and change it with the physical remote itself. Very frustrating, to say the least.

Connection Issues

I have been using the app for at least three years and it will occasionally lose the wifi connection and indicates one or more zones are offline. I can usually fix this simply by clicking on the zone or resetting the router. It’s not ideal, but fine and not necessarily unexpected with routers. More recently, the app has lost all connectively and gives me a no signal error. It also won’t identify or connect to any of my wireless channels even though previously connected. This is even after resetting the router multiple times and trying to connect to my 2.4 ghz channel and the other channels directly by typing in the network name and password. It just spins and does not connect.Each of my four zones are connected to Alexa and two continue to work only through Alexa, so something is connected even though the app says otherwise. It’s very frustrating since I like to check and adjust temps in each zone when I’m away.The system is way to expensive and WiFi connections are way too common to be experiencing problems like this, especially after a few years of use. I’m hesitant to delete the app and start over since it was incredibly hard to connect each unit to the app in the first place and I don’t want to lose the two WiFi connections I still have through Alexa.

Won’t Schedule Auto Mode

There are a lot of bugs and inconsistencies with this app, but the primary one is just missing functionality. We live in a temperate environment that is hot/cold/mild at different times of the day and different, inconsistent times of year. Hot nights, cold nights, hot days, cold days can happen anytime of year. We therefore don’t have a season of heating or a season of cooling, we need our system to switch between heat and cool around a band of the same temperature all year round, such as 67-71F. Mitsubishi calls this “auto mode” and it cannot be set with Kumo Cloud. We have to set it with Reo Links on each unit, wait, and see if they all update in Kumo. Once they do we can adjust them, but if we ever switch the mode we have to restart with the Reo links. That is the first problem. The second problem is we want the range to be slightly cooler at night and slightly warmer in the day, say 67-71F night and 69-73F day. If we could do that we could genuinely “set it and forget it”. It seems pretty basic, But Kumo cloud can’t do this at all. That’s our biggest complaint - we feel like we were sold a half-built product.

Clunky and unresponsive

This app is the only to control a Mitshubishi Heat Pump from a phone or remotely, with its full set of features and efficency. Unfortunately, its a very terrible app. Its slow and unresponsive. When I tap on a button, about half of the time it picks up the tap, and the other half there's no response for a few seconds, and when it does finally respond, a spinning circle appears in the middle fo the screan for several seconds. But, every action requires clicking through at least a few of these screen. So a quick temp check, or update which should be a glance or tap and a few seconds is a tedius tap, tap, wait, tap , tap wait, tap tap, wait, select value/room, wait and at least 2 minutes. I hate this app and threw it out and bought Termostate adapters for all of my heat pumps and an Ecobee instead. Its less efficient, since it can only turn the pump on or off to modulate the room temp, but using the kumo app is just so frustrating that its just not worth the effort unfortunately. And, I can use the smart home system I want to use with Ecobee to integrate with routines and automations where kumo is a walled garten with no external integrations at all. Honestly if kumo provided integration with Google Home, or Apple home, and I could control it form there, I'd be exstatic. But unfortunately Kumo is for some reason completely closed off making it from bad to completely unusable.
