No 2-page spread on tablets?
Not sure why the app doesn’t have a landscape mode 2-page spread. Works on the website version, but half those chapters (on iPad Safari and Firefox at least) show some “unrecognized string” error where it clearly doesn’t point to the correct image location and returns a blank error screen.
Also, tip for anyone noticing the images seem a bit fuzzy. There is a setting in the chapter viewer for “adaptive image quality” which can be turned off. Set the slider to high quality to get crisp images.
Overall not terrible compared to a some other ad supported reader apps, but I can still wish for the day I can buy these series in proper e-book format where the chapters aren’t broken into little pieces. I’ll spend some money here to support the series for which I’ve been wanting an officially licensed release, but definitely not going to be a place I look for new things to read. I’ll stick to e-books and places where the chapters aren’t broken up.
adds aren’t working?
whenever i click adds to get a free chapter it’s just a black screen! pls help, i need to read!
Bad Reader
You’ll only ever bother with this app to read something you know is exclusive and you already want to read. If you aren’t willing to pay money, the free chapter system is monotonous, especially when a 4-page chapter will take the same amount of resources as a 16-page chapter. Nothing worse than using a daily pass on a short chapter.
Even if you do buy it, you the zoom function just doesn’t function correctly. Once you zoom, you can’t slide the image to read it without sliding to the next page, making it the worst reading experience I’ve ever had on mobile. Reading manga on a browser is more convenient than this.
If you just want to read whatever manga, download jump plus or get a subscription to Viz or use any other manga app.
