Description
CommonPass lets you digitally document your health status -- through test results and eventually, vaccinations -- while protecting your health data privacy.
CommonPass is a free app and service that helps you securely document and share your health status so you can get where you want to go. Get back to travel, work, school and life with CommonPass.
How it works:
Download the free CommonPass app to your iOS smartphone, and use it to access your lab results and vaccination records from authorized providers. With your consent, that information can be used to validate your health status without revealing any other underlying personal health information.
CommonPass generates a secure QR code for you to show when you travel or access certain locations and events. Your health records are stored securely and privately on your phone, entirely under your control.
CommonPass is a service of The Commons Project Foundation. The Commons Project Foundation is supporting the efforts of a number of countries, such as Aruba, and US states, such as the State of Hawaii, and others, to help enable safer travel and mobility around the world.
What’s New
Version 1.5.16
CommonPass version 1.5 brings new lab integrations and early SMART Health Cards QR scanning support.
Ratings and Reviews
Read the description!
I’m astonished by the other reviews claiming this does not work and they did not get the email. 🤣. Sad state of affairs when you can’t read the short simple description of how this app works. I’ve downloaded it in preparation of hoping to travel this summer. I think it’s a great idea and it seems secure in that I control my health data. I hope it becomes one of the standard ways of showing proof of vaccination.
Does not work
This app does not work (yet?). It asks you for a 6 digit pin, supposedly sent via email, yet no such email ever arrives. Secondly, this app is supposed to call up your test result from your testing site. Really? Which of the myriad testing sites and labs will be in this network? I see Centogene is listed. Fine if you live in Germany and test at Frankfurt airport. What if you test at your local emergency care facility? There’s lots of work to do here. This needs one system that works internationally , not just for a segment of users and testing labs that happen to be in this network. How do I know that the labs at my international destination will be within this particular network? Coordinate!
Good idea but useless so far
To speed up Covid-related travel formalities is a great idea, in theory, but this app doesn’t work today. Testing facilities do not seem to know how to make results available to the app. Also, this only shows negative status for 14 days. Although it promises to “ enable people to pull test and vaccination records onto their mobile device”, there is no mechanism to add vaccination status.
