I’m glad Commonwealth finally has an up-to-date modern app. About time!
So old app said a new app needed to be downloaded but didn’t point me to the direction of the new app. I can only assume this is the app as it accepted my credentials that I created from a web browser earlier in the week. I needed to transfer money to a relative and came to find out that the accounts are no longer linked- in the app or using desktop version via web browser. It seems I now need to start over. However my remote account is still linked. Weird.

Revised Review: They almost lost me due to the significant problems that came with the 2018 version, but with the fixes, this is a great mobile banking app.
Original Review: The new app (2018) is an improvement over the previous one except in 1 significant aspect. The mobile deposit system is significantly flawed and in the 3 or so months of complaining both in writing and, now, hours on the phone, the needed corrections haven’t been made. I’ve given it 2 stars because the mobile banking aspect is essential to my business and it doesn’t work. If you don’t plan to use mobile banking then the app is fine.
In short this is the problem: using the mobile check deposit app, money goes missing and I have to be super vigilant with every single check deposit. After taking images of the check and hitting submit, I’ll get a screen that says the check was received. That should be end of story unless there is a problem and the check is not accepted. But what happens is that when I look in my account to verify all deposited checks show up (as I’ve learned I have to do), I’ll sometimes find that a check that was apparently received doesn’t show up. So, I go back and try to deposit it again and I get screen that says it’s rejected because it was already deposited. Crazy making catch-22. If it’s being held for review, I should get a message saying so, like was done with the previous app. But I’ve never had a message that a check is being held for review & I’ve never been told by staff that this is the reason for the missing checks.
This has been going on for months. I have to be vigilant with every deposit. when this problem happens I call up CWCCU & waste 20-50 minutes each time on the phone resolving the same f*** issue.
Yesterday this happened again. While I was checking my account today to see if the missing $20 check showed up, I found that a $130 check I deposited yesterday was reversed, I.e., deducted from my balance. I got a confirmation at the time I deposited it yesterday that it had been received and also a confirmation e-mail. I called them up and after 50 minutes on the phone I was told that a deposited $130 check was actually the missing $20 check and they had no record of the $130 deposit!!!!!! What happened to the image of the check I submitted??!!! There’s more aggravation to this tale but you get the point. I can’t trust them to manage my money using the mobile app. Bottom line. After 30 years, I’m taking my banking elsewhere.
