ConnectCode Barcode is a barcode software that uses computer fonts (Open Type) to create industry compliant barcodes for use on macOS. Different types of barcodes can be created and easily embedded into a graphics or business document. When a barcode created using a font is printed, it rasters to the resolution of the printer and will not be limited to the DPI (Dots per Inch) of an image. This allows resolution independent barcodes that meet the strictest industry requirements to be created and printed.
The software uses a highly acclaimed barcode fonts engine developed by ConnectCode. This engine has, over the years, helped many companies clear their independent barcode verification tests and is now widely adopted by many fortune 500 companies.

The font allows for the barcode to be consistently sized and placed regardless of what data the initial page of the document uses to generate its code.
I have used several bar code font applications over the past 20 years and found that ConnectCode is the cleanest solution I have found.

I use your product to create barcodes from huge lists of account numbers and other indexing information. The bar codes are read by high volume document scanners which create the main index for our document search utility. We chose to use your product because it installed flawlessly into excel and we were able to document the creation process so that staff can produce the barcodes in 4 simple steps.

Impractical for large barcoding projects
This app was advertised as being able to create barcodes in Microsoft Office using Excel and/or Word along with mail merge. Thus I thought it would be ideal to print hundreds of barcode labels from Excel files into a Word document for a large inventory project. I was able to use mail merge and create Word files formatted for my labels from Excel. However,, SoftwareConnect did not convert the text into actual barcodes during mail merge. Instead, it forces you to manually convert the text yourself using the font pull down menu where barcode fonts are installed. To make matters worse, you can only see barcodes in that menu, not the barcode font names (for example, Code128). So I had to uninstall all barcodes I did not want first before being able to select the right barcode for text conversion.
Because I need both a barcode and text script on each label, ConnectCode was not practical for my large project with hundreds of labels.
Clugey at best
Please make certain you read all the documentation. This software works, but only one way. One installs the software. Then you manually copy the fonts into your font directory. (One would assume at this point one could copy and paste the results from the software into any application that supports ttf or otf fonts. Not the case. Unless I am reading the documentation badly, one needs to then copy the resulting barcode into text edit (standard on any OSX install). Then one needs to sellect that again copy it again and, then paste it into Pages (for example) .
Seems as if this could be better designed but well it is not. IMHO
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
