Hit and miss
Out of the 4 jobs I've went for I've gotten all 4. Billing is a bit quacky and could use some work. But when I contacted customer service they were fairly responsive and polite in returning credits for bogus jobs.
Other thing is some jobs are priced way wrong in the way of how many points it takes. A $100 or less job shouldn't cost me 64$ to get, etc. . It almost seems the service doesn't take the time to scope the job and post it correctly. Had a few home owners mention something.
As far as reviews I'm confused. I can add my own reviews but I can't have a home owner leave any comments for my approval?
Lastly I had a home owner ask if I was from home advisor or not. I replied know and ask why ? He said that he had only posted this job on home advisor and had no idea who smith was. So based off of that it almost seems smith buys jobs from home advisor.
If it wasn't for the annual $300 fee I'd make the switch. But for the time being smith has my business until the day it proves to not be worth the money.
Overall give it a try. You may be surprised!
Hit and Miss
It's hard for small contractors now that so many companies want to get in between us and the customers. Smith is another "service" trying to do just that. The Leads on Smith seem to be more substantial than the Leads for tiny odd jobs on Home Depot's ProReferral. However, like ProReferral, this app is frustrating because many of the leads never respond. Luckily, Smith is good about refunding your credits. The credits are expensive, however, and once you sign up, you need to turn off the button that automatically purchases more credits for you. Some of the Leads seem to be phony or somehow extracted from other places on the internet, which makes me feel like I am pestering the potential customers. What is good about it? Well, some of the Leads are legit. In some cases, you can send a bid or a note Introducing yourself and the customer can ask to meet you. Then, you can spend your credits to get that customer's information.I feel like those scenarios may give me a better chance of getting the job. I'm going to cautiously keep trying with Smith.
I’m new on this app but so far I get the leads 2 hours late. I checked my settings on app and my phone and there all good and still having them come in 2 hours late. I opened up the app and all my info is gone my profile pictures etc. Then it comes back little by little and while it comes back little by little I’m trying to contact customers and won’t let me. Every job is 8 credits!!!! Even handyman jobs that are only a few hours work and the cost 8 credits will 1 was for 2 but no matter what there all 8 credits they need to really adjust this issue. I have a feeling that they generate bogus leads... maybe. So I’m going to wait and see but don’t expect me to keep buying credit packages and stay on. That’s why I gave it 3 stars if it’s what it says it is with genuine leads and with real chance of getting a job then I’ll change my rating.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
