Control Ultimate Edition 17+

I have played this game on both ps5 and windows and loved it so when I saw there was a Mac port curiosity got the better of me and I had to test it out. I tried it on a m1 MacBook Air 8gb so pretty much the lowest end hardware the game supports and I’m very impressed. I left it on default settings which is around medium at 540p native with metalFX and it pretty much always stays locked at 30 fps and looks pretty decent as well. You are getting a way better experience on a thin and light laptop from 5 years ago than on a ps4. Thats pretty impressive. If you are on a newer Mac then this is going to run super well. Great game and a great port. You should definitely check it out.

I can't find a true support contact, so... Suddenly most of the light went dark after dying during the "Launch to complete the Astral Plane challenge." I thought it was part of the game to make it more challenging. The lighting returned to normal when I got to the mailroom suddenly even though the message "Launch to complete the Astral Plane challenge" persisted making me think I should still be in the challenge. I claimed a control spot and then found a room full of enemies I could launch things at. I died quickly, as happens. When I respawned at the control point the lighting was again mostly gone. I can barely navigate the environment. Going back to the fight room it's impossible to fight now because I can't see more than a few outlines in the environment. I thought it might clear up by dying again, but the light remains mostly off. Of course, I quit and restated a few times, even waiting a couple hours to come back, but the lack of lighting persists. I even tried fiddling with many display settings, including default of course, but nothing works. What do I do to keep playing? I know the game is not supposed to look like this or you’d see it in videos etc. I have an iMac M4, 10 core, 32GB RAM.

It’s not perfect on the performance, but all of the quality settings are customizable. It runs really nicely on my M3 Pro MacBook Pro after adjusting some of the settings. Something to add, the stability of this game is the best I’ve seen so far. You can leave it running in the background for days and it will use minimal batter and doesn’t ever crash, which is a first for Mac games. The controller support works perfectly and is seamless. No need to have to map controls. Overall, a super solid addition to the Mac game lineup. Download and enjoy. FYI, this is the special edition of the game where you get a few extras, which is nice.
