Description

Is this the original Cookie Clicker? Let's be real, it's not. But at least this one is on iOS! And it's not just "another Cookie Clicker wannabe". This is my passion project. A game with honest love for the idle, clicker genre Orteil spearheaded. It's full of hidden references, surprisingly deep mechanics, and new minigames that you unlock as you progress. It's about clicking, but not only about clicking. It's an idle game, but you never stop doing things. It's complicated.

It's an idle clicker game that explores how far we can stretch the concept of a clicker, idle, tapping game. With subtle lore, complex strategies, and more intricate gameplay than just clicking frantically or idling waiting for the numbers to go up. Although there's a lot of clicking and tapping.

Here's a nice summary:
- You tap or click to bake cookies, easy. (Or click, if you're on Mac)
- The faster you tap, the more cookies you'll bake!
- Invest your cookies into automatic tap machines or upgrades to increase production!
- Incremental efficiency through upgrades!
- Grow your Garden! Find synergies between the different plants
- Ascend! Unlock more complex mechanics by ascending!
- Discover the mysteries of "The Fall"!
- Do not miss the floating Magic Cookie! Click it!
- Unlock deep mechanics with surprising minigames.
- Tap, tap, tap! Click, click, click!

Cookie Clicker is an endless clicker game. You tap, click and bake, ever more cookies until you break the cookieverse.

The economy must grow, cookies are all we know. Tap, tap, tap! Click, click, click!

Overall current review

Honestly I like the game! I feel that some things could be explained a bit more in game though. Like with the new ascension update; you can ascend and it sounds cool but it's not really explained on what it does before hand. I feel something should be explained on what they do before you buy them. Same thing with the farm, you don't know what you're getting exactly until you spend billions of cookies on it. I also feel that there should be more types of plants on the farm as well, they can have different buffs and if you think they're gonna be too OP you can just put a debuff on it aswell. But other than the specifics I think this is one of the greatest cookie clicker clones on mobile! The way you put in the ads and in-game purchases was great too!

-Update: Hey Dev! I tried to use the discord link you recommended we use in the settings but it says "the invite link is invalid or expired." The link you put there may not have been set to never expire or an infinite amount of uses. But regardless, I think it may need to be changed😅

Developer Response ,

hey! thank you for such an informative - and fair - review! I'm really glad you like the game. You are right about the information in the Ascension and Garden sections. I'm working on an update that will hopefully improve on that. stay tuned!

btw! in the Settings button you'll find a link to our Discord, in case you're interested in discussing the game's development directly with me

update: oh boy, what an oversight. I'll replace the link on the next update! 😅😅 thanks for pointing it out!

Love it but a few bugs

I just discovered this game over a decade after the sensation. I love this game, menu kind of games are really fun. Everything was perfect but the last update kind of broke the game.

When watching advertisements it will sometimes lock up the app and refuse to give me rewards after watching the ad.

The garden plants grow way too fast to maintain. The first “easy” plant dies before I can even finish planting the whole garden.

Despite this I’m so happy to discover these kind of games. I appreciate that this one doesn’t harvest personal data either.

If the game gets updated to fix the oct 24 update then I will update my review to 5 stars. Regardless big thanks to Alejandro.

PS: I would love to spend to get gems but I don’t think it is a good deal. I think more gems can be given and the costs of upgrades should either stop getting more expensive or at least get more expensive at a slower rate.

hey! thanks for the fair review! I'm glad to read that you like this game! I think you're right regarding the plants, they grow at a decent pace but the rotting progress is way too fast. That should get fixed on the next update. I can't reproduce the error you mention regarding the ads, at least not on version 3.4 is it possible that accidentally fixed it? If you still notice the error, please join us on Discord and help me debug it!

P.S. Regarding the gems, I imagine you refer to the 'Permanent Boost' pricing. In which case, yeah you've got a point. I got worried that players buying too many of those would harm the fun of the game but I probably overshot that. I'll think about reducing that price on a future update!

I also like this more than the original

I tried Cookie Clickers 2, and the original browser Cookie Clicker. Love both. This one doesn’t have the same complexity. It’s actually pretty barebones, but it’s that minimalistic feel makes it more enjoyable for me. No overthinking, no distractions, just click the dang cookie, buy production, upgrade. Only change I’d make is the auto-clicker feels useless once you get other buildings. It takes too long to upgrade to anything meaningful, and by the time you do it doesn’t really matter. Ex: I was at 250m /s, with 100 clickers and they’d only make 2.56k per click. Next upgrade is at 200 clickers, which costs billions more, so by the time you get there you’re buildings will be generating way more again. Other than that little nitpick, great job, dev!

hey! thank you SO much for the review and the words of encouragement! it really warms my heart to read this. you're not the first to bring up the clicker productivity. i'm gonna tweak some numbers in the next update so hopefully it feels more balanced then.

feel free to keep sharing your feedback please, it is immensely helpful to me. you can join us in our Discord (you can find it in the Settings page of the game) to chat about it
