After iOS 10.3, I needed this! Update: Can't paste the URL!
I have been copying and pasting information about books from websites into email, to make recommendations. After the latest iOS update, the information has been going in double spaced and I have had to do manual editing. I've searched for a solution to this but could not find one. "Copied" has solved the problem and made it very easy to do this without the double space. It has been working flawlessly so far!
Update: After the latest update I can no longer do what I need. I can select the information and paste it, but I don't seem to be able to copy the link. When I try to paste, I only get the book information all over again. No URL. I have to go back to the regular browser to copy and paste the link even though it shows in Copied. This takes the app from 4 or 5 stars down to 2 stars for me. If I cannot copy and paste the link, this really changes the usefulness of the app.
NO LONGER DEVELOPED!!
This was an amazing Mac/iPhone app for years (only app that I was ever totally satisfied actually), but it has been years since the app has been updated & no one has heard from the developer in years (even the App Store Copy Right is dated 2017).
I am totally happy to admit that when Copied came out it was leaps and bounds ahead of both Apple & other developers. And that shows as the iOS app still is quite popular (and for the most part any bugs/errors don’t effect usability much ... for now). However, without support this will change - the macOS app has been in need of updating for over a year (for CRITICAL issues - longer for more minor bugs). Eventually the same will happen with the iOS app.
I suggest people start looking for substitute apps now (I know I use clippings for a lot so I need the lists to be in sync across platforms so even though the iOS app is good, it is of little use to me). It’s more expensive but Copy’em Paste seems to cover most of the bases on macOS (I loved the Copied Apps multitude of viewers and editors...) & an iOS + iPadOS app is currently in free beta (including a widget & keyboard, but I don’t believe there is an iMessage app).
To journalists and list makers:
The app IS great, but if it isn’t supported how can you put this app on your lists, let alone at the top, when you know it’s both money and time wasted?! Shame on you!
The absolute BEST and a MUST-HAVE
This app is phenomenal, although there are a couple additional features I wish it had. The only reason I give a five-star deserving app one less star. I wish it would allow an unlimited number of items to be saved as opposed to 1000. Although I have not reached a need for it, I could see myself needing it in the future. Also, I don’t understand the 30 day window for clippings. Aside from this, the sync functionality and the scripting, as well as the regex rules are super super impressive. These are not the only standout features of this app, even. It is essentially perfect and sooooo worth the price. The unpaid version doesn’t even do it justice. Don’t even use it unless you’re buying it. Unless you prefer tools that are less powerful.
