Great budgeting App

I was very reticent to try this app because I’ve been using mint forever and all my data is there and it’s free. It seemed counterintuitive to spend money on a budgeting app. But I found myself with covid at the end of the year and spending a lot of downtime laying on the couch so I figured I’d spend the time trying it out. I love this app! It’s so easy to use and very intuitive. I appreciate that it’s very well thought out. I had a couple of issues setting it up and the customer service team responded right away. One issue was easily resolved and the other has to do with linking one of my accounts and I’m very impressed with the level of ongoing communication while they continue to fix it. It’s very easy to ask questions and they respond with a genuine answer quickly. There is even a designated area to submit suggestions which they also respond to. The only thing it’s missing is the ability to filter a category by a specific time frame and then print it (i.e. rental expenses for the year). But after I asked about it they said others have also asked for that functionality and they are working on it.

So far I’ve been extremely impressed. So much better than mint and definitely worth the money.

Only $70/year!?

This was the first app where I felt like I needed to pay more. Seriously, it just provides so much value for personal finance! I used Mint for years, tried the Copilot free trial, and it was a no brainer for me to pay the yearly subscription. The app is just so freaking intuitive and syncs transactions immediately. I just got a spicy deluxe at Chick-fil-A then opened the app and it already synced into my transactions and into the correct category. The feature I use most often is the dotted line spending rate. I can see how much I am over or under budget everyday on a graph which helps me stay on target for the month. I noticed when the winter storm hit Texas my spending rate started to plateau underneath the budget because we were stuck inside not buying anything. Once the snow/ice melted I knew we had some extra budget for going out to buy food. The app also has amazing widgets for iPhone so you can keep your finances in check each time you open the phone. This app has kind of changed my personal finance life. Thanks for creating it!

Terrible Experience; Just Like the Rest

I have been using Mint for years and it’s age is really starting to show. I’ve read nothing but glowing reviews on this app and thought I’d give it a try. I’m at the point where I’m willing to pay for an app to help me financially. But of course, my experience was nothing like what I’d read.

For starters I had a lot of trouble adding my accounts. I knew I had the right login as I would test each one before signing in on the app. The app would tell me the credentials were wrong or just give me an internal error. After multiple attempts I could usually get it to log in. I was also very disappointed to find that I couldn’t add my bills like Cox, Verizon, Electric, Gas, etc... Then during setup the app was trying to load all my transactions and for some reason couldn’t load them from one bank. I waited and waited but nothing changed. I decided to close the app and reopen it, still nothing. So basically I have to remove the account or be soft locked in the setup. That’s not very helpful.

Really all I want is an app where I can give it all my financial obligations and have it tell me how much I need to set aside each check and what’s due before next payday. Then it can worry about fancy budgeting and charts of my spending. My due dates are far more important.
