App won’t connect to my HK invoke - Update
As of today I was able to set up my invoke using the iOS Cortona app in my iPhone 11. The invoke connected and is ready to use. I am making sure to keep this plugged in and connected to WiFi until it gets the update to make it a Bluetooth speaker. This is still a fantastic speaker and I will most certainly continue to use after the update.
Original post: I recently had to switch WiFi networks for my HK invoke. I was having issues connecting to my new network so I rest my HK Invoke....BIG MISTAKE. Now, I have tried 50 times to set up my speaker using the Cortana app and I keep getting....”Something went wrong”. I have tried iPhone, iPad and Surface using the Cortana set up app....NOTHING. Speaker is to receive a Firmware update in Jan 2021 to disconnect the service and make it BT only. Well my speaker won’t work at all because I can’t get it to connect it the internet. Very disappointed with my $200 premium speaker that is USELESS. UPDATE THE APP SO I CAN LISTEN TO MY SPEAKER
Great Search Assistant, Terrible External Management
Using the Cortana app to search using text or voice is still a very good experience. However there are three pain points for me:
1) managing HK Invoke speakers seems to be broken for me since I added a second speaker. Currently the “Play a Sound” toggle for active listening is what’s not working.
2) I unlinked my work O365 account, but Cortana seems determined to remember the account and every so often keeps reminding me to login to my work O365 account.
3) the check for updates button has started to say that it wasn’t able to check for updates. Considering that I have reinstalled the app as recently as 1.5-2 months ago, this is very odd.
Filled with bugs for iOS
Brother-in-law bought us a cortana speaker a year and a half ago and set it up with his own microsoft account for whatever reason. I had previously downloaded this app (over a year ago) and tried to log in with my existing microsoft account. It did not let me log in, I tried everything, but ended up deleting the app. I just redownloaded to give it another shot only to find the microsoft account I had previously tried to use was already signed in once the app installed. However, I have been trying to switch to a different microsoft account, and the app will not let me. I have closed and reopened the app several times. Sometimes it will prompt me to “sign in,” but when I press the button, nothing happens at all. Other times when I reopen the app, it recognizes me as already signed in with my old microsoft account. When I then go to sign myself out, the same thing happens. I click sign out and nothing happens. Every now and then when I click sign out, it will bump me back a page, but it won’t sign me out. Terrible app.
