Counterpointer provides music notation tools and exercises in traditional counterpoint, both species and free counterpoint in 2, 3, 4, or more parts. It will analyze what you write and comment on any departures from the chosen style, whether it is Palestrina, Bach vocal, a custom style, or any of the five species used in counterpoint instruction. You can evaluate your work repeatedly, hear it, save it, and print it. Counterpointer includes a study guide with general advice on writing counterpoint and specific guides for each of the five species. Begin with first species (note-against-note) and work your way up!
Allows choosing the staff in which the cantus will appear, adds a show-intervals-with-bass option in the activity editor, adds the up and down arrow tools to supplement the up/down arrow keys for moving selected items (or they can be dragged).
