A counting app for preschoolers and kindergarteners from the developers of the best-selling kid's app, Shape-O! ABCs. Counting Caterpillar teaches the basics of counting with fun game play, beautiful graphics and quality sound effects.

This caterpillar is hungry! Catch aphids in the correct number sequence to feed the caterpillar and fill its belly. Earn butterflies while progressing through multiple levels, and visit them in the butterfly gallery.

☆ Multiple levels
Curriculum based counting practice covers counting in ones to 100, and skip counting in intervals of 2, 5, and 10. The hard level offers a review of these counting techniques in a random selection to challenge comprehension and memory skills.

☆ Learning by doing
The repetitive rhythm of the counting process is highlighted by the action of the game. The numbers are represented in various ways, including: number characters, spoken/voiceover numbers, and by the actual segments of the caterpillar. This is a fun way to encourage young ones to count all the way up to 100 and introduce interval counting.

☆ Positive feedback
Children are regularly rewarded with words of encouragement as they complete the number sequences. Counting Caterpillar features over 45 levels, and each achievement is marked by collecting a unique butterfly. The butterflies are added to a gallery which the child may browse at any time, maintaining motivation and contributing to a sense of accomplishment.

Counting Caterpillar is an entertaining way for little ones to build a foundation in number skills.

Kids Still Love It

After all this time, my kids still love playing with the app. I hope the developer plans to update the app to work with the new iOS since it's currently flagged as incompatible. I took off a couple of stars because it hasn't been updated in years.

More levels needed

This is a great concept, however, it is too much in level 1 to go all the way to 100. How about a level with 1-10, another with 1-20, and another with 1-100? It would be give each kid more ability and confidence.

Could be great!

This is a good app with graphics that make it very appealing. I would easily rate it four or five stars if it had settings I could change so that my child could practice something specific. If I want her to practice counting from fifty to a hundred, I cannot do that...we are always having to start over at one. Give me settings like that and I could easily recommend this to friends.
