For builders and tinkerers, the planet Woanope couldn’t be a better place to be stranded. It’s overflowing with flowers, crystals, animals, and a zillion other resources you can quickly craft into everything from comfy furniture to vicious weapons. A never-ending string of new locations and inventions keeps this survival RPG engrossing, and its oddball humor pulls you in even more. We looked forward to every wacky conversation with our robo-companion and random alien creatures—and to the awesome discoveries we’d make when they sent us on quests.
This game is where it's at. I waited a long time to get this on sale little under a month ago or whatever (cause that's kind of person I am 😋). But let me tell you, with many hours of play experience, this game has it all and I most definitely wish now I could've paid full price haha, that's how good this game is. I've even found myself ignoring my XB1 and my PC at times, just to play this game. The humor, the characters, the music, the graphics, the atmosphere, the colors, the combat, the customization, the map, the inventory, the crafting, the everything. This game is clearly well thought out. After a few mere hours of playing and not even making it out of the Savanna yet with even more hours than that I've lost track of, I have been hooked since. The game play is so simple, yet so deep. I can't say TOO much for the story right now cause with games like this I like to pace myself and do little story bits at a time, but I will say that at the very least it's quite entertaining so far. For being a mobile game, it's so easy to pick up and put down too. The game holds in the background beautifully on my 6. I've left this game on pause for close to days before, and it just picks right back up where I left off, not even needing to load. I love this game and highly encourage anyone who enjoys some of the topics I mentioned above. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy Crashlands and support Butterscotch!
I enjoyed all the fighting and the quests and especially being able to build literally wherever I Want now that is pretty cool. So if I wanted to build around a colony and give them an enclosed building so All of us could stay in...I could. The missing 2 stars is mainly because of all this "get x amount of this and x amount of that and x amount of those", and most of the side quests are boring chores including a massive amount of harvesting for practically nothing. I was in love of this game...I would be on this game more than my ps3. I actually enjoyed having to farm for recipes until a huge demand of ultra rare resources started to creep in. I would spend hours upon hours upon hours just finding 3 more things until I gave up and closed the game. But it was pretty satisfying to finally find the missing ingredients to create a powerful thing. But then these boring fruitless quests started popping out of no where demanding large amounts of this rare material then this ultra rare material, and later in the game you find more often that these brand new recipes are completely useless...I kept getting "gadgets" in the tundra that didn't help much against the tundra monsters...and the trinkets started to seem like luxurious items not items that will help in the heat of battle. I got this game because of the action and a crafting system....not to be burdened down by thousands of fruitless chores.
I've been looking for a game on the App Store that I can pick up and play for about 20 minutes and be completely satisfied, I've tried many games like Minecraft, Infinity Blade, Geometry Dash, etc(to state a few). All of which games draws you in for hours never wanting to let you go or they were fine tuned for quick and short sessions. Crashlands is something in between, I don't feel like putting the game down a few minutes after I pick it up and I don't feel unsatisfied if I don't play the game for hours on end(you can if you want to though). Close to the time I wanted I can play Crashlands for 30 minutes and feel fully satisfied for the day. It doesn't trap you while it is still entertaining you for about as long as you want to play the game. Also, the game is full of humor and...of course slapping...everything(you will understand what I meant) the in-game teleportation really helps with the chores of walking back and forth when you need to get somewhere to talk to someone or to get back home after gathering resources as you can teleport to the numerous teleporters across the map. One last thing it's not out yet but they will add a feature to crest and share your own campaigns and worlds. (Which is totally rad)
I watched a video about the three brothers who made this game. It's a really inspirational actually, as one of them was battling cancer during the production of Crashlands. You can tell that a lot of love, careful planning, and emotion went into this game it's beautifully made and provides fun for hours (I'm 30 hours in) If you have steam you can buy it there too and play cross platform. I love switching between my phone and computer depending on where I am. As far as gameplay it has tons (and I mean tons) of loot, stats, side quests, all the stuff that will take hours out of your life. It really feels like an open world RPG loot fest. I was originally scared that the crafting would overwhelm me, due to the fact that I'm so sick of the "build this, upgrade that" trend in games these days. Crashlands doesn't depend too heavily on that. It's great to know that if you want higher tier armor you have to earn it. You kill monsters and loot them, build a workbench, pick up the ingredients for your set in a huge open world, and actually play the game and earn your gear without all the pay to win freemium junk. You will find none of that here. I really hope to see more games from Butterscotch Shenanigans team in the future. Bravo, I'm hooked!
Crash lands is a great survival game where your space ship crashes while you were making a delivery. You then find yourself isolated on a new planet and try to survive. The design of the game items and graphics are ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and the game play where you can actually see where the enemy will attack and DOGE!!!! Finally a game I can play! The storyline is great and there are nice side quest too. The pet feature is a great idea but I wish I could take more than one. I mean who doesn't want an army of monster pets to fight a boss with!!! But overall great game Butterscotch and thanks for the update I look forward to checking it out!Ok I'm adding to my review , I see a lot of complaints and most are untrue, at first you get one shot- a lot but after you get armor it is more enjoyable. The stats on combat items really do make a difference . Like the poison bleed and stun provide a chance to get an advantage in the fight , there is also other handy effects like regen. So there are no game play problems, I also like the freedom with quest and side quest and then the side quest turns into the main story!!! It is fun to discover all the items and monsters and don't listen to the haters, because hater is gonna hate hate hate no matter what.
I've played a lot of this game, but I find my self either not playing it for 3 months, or deleting the app to clear storage space. I've played enough of this, and it just gets boring doing the EXACT SAME THING EVERY TIME! All you is collect the 3-4 resources on your planet and kill enemies that basically have nothing to do with the antagonist or the ending. It's just the same 5-6 enemy types that you kill every so often to make the latest set of armor or newest weapon. They act like boss fights are a big part of this, and honestly I enjoy the boss fights, but that's only 1/100 of the game. They throw about 20 new stations at you every few quests. Some quests are just plain dumb. You go, kill something, come back. Or you go, look at an area, come back. Or my personal favorite (not really), go spend an hour getting enough materials for an item, give it to the more or less useless NPC, then get absolutely nothing besides something you will never use or something you'll use once, then go do another useless quest for nothing. Resource gather is stupid, killing monsters for a rare material/something you only get one of, and the recipe requires 50, is stupid, and the quests are made by a retarded 10 year old who doesn't know what a fun game is! Everything is just one big wash, rinse, repeat.
