Credit genie is a fantastic app, especially for people who are new to building credit or who are trying to repair their credit history. When I first signed up, I was offered a small $50 loan, and while that might sound minor, it was a huge help for me in a tight spot. The application process was simple, and I really appreciate how the app gives opportunities to those who might not have access to traditional credit products.One feature I would love to see added is the ability to pay off your loan before the due date directly through the app. Currently, you have to wait for them to automatically withdraw the payment, and if the withdrawal fails for any reason (like insufficient funds or a timing issue), there isn’t an option to manually push the payment yourself. On a couple of occasions, this led to missed payments that could have been easily avoided if I could have simply triggered the payment manually.Despite this small inconvenience, I think Credit Genie is a great service. It’s user-friendly, transparent, and genuinely helps those looking to establish or rebuild their credit. With just a couple of tweaks, such as adding manual payment options, the experience would be even better. Overall, highly recommended if you’re looking for a trustworthy tool to help get your credit on track!

*update*- I got my cash advance, practically instantly. While I was waiting, I was looking at all of the recent reviews. The reviews have me kind of scared now, but I’ll just have to see what happens. People are saying that this app keeps taking money out of your account even when you disconnect your bank information and there’s no way to talk to a live person. For now, I’m happy with my experience and I look forward to being better with my money, which means I’ll be paying a lot more attention to my bank account. By the way, it literally tells you that you’re going to be charged every other week. I don’t think people know how to read also, if you’re not receiving steady income from a direct deposit or otherwise, don’t be surprised when you can’t get approved for an advance from these apps I understand how frustrating it is when your dad broke and can’t figure out how to get some money, but these apps have to make sure that you’re going to pay them back.I have to admit, I’m not the best with my money, but I’m trying to work on it. There are many other apps on the App Store that seem to be fraudulent, and they want you to immediately pay for a premium subscription in order to get in advance. If I need a cash advance, that means I don’t have money to pay for a subscription right away. There are very few cash advance apps that are worthy of trust, and this looks like it’s going to be one of them. If you need it instantly, there’s going to be a fee of course also, it will ask you if you’d like to provide a tip. I think that the tips help keep these app running, because a lot of people don’t pay back the advance. I have other cash advance apps. Those work perfectly this app can't even help you when it says your account is a joint account. You try and show you're actually not a joint account. Just get copy and pasted answers if they answer at all and you go to there website with that help ticket and they switch it from open to awaiting YOUR reply like you need to respond to get any help explaining something to you leaving you not helped and ignored. The way they do business even after all my documents I sent showing my account is NOT a joint account they refuse to even look at my stuff to confirm. And $4.99 every 2 weeks for a bank connection fee!?!!! They have to know there's five other cash advance apps that blow this app out of the water sorry I even triedUpdate: four days after my review and and people actually doing there due diligence and checking on the apps you want to try there developers response is all for show they did the same exact thing to me. I started to see some movement annnnndddd right back to there games where they are not helping. So, I stumbled upon credit genie after a google search. I decided to give them a try and qualified instantly for an advance. The process of qualifying and getting the deposit was fairly easy. Fee was low. My problem occurred when my debit card was compromised and was cancelled ( the one used) to have the 4.99 fee taken out. I immediately contacted Credit Genie to let them know and they reassured me that it would be debited from my checking account which it was. Payment not late and completed without any issues. However, since reaching out and letting them know about the compromised card I have not been able to update the new card. I have made several attempts to reach out to credit genie and have not been given any direct answers other than them telling me I cancelled the account with them. I have not cancelled anything. I requested proof they failed to provide proof and now tell me they can not reinstate the account for 60 days. Well it’s unfortunate for them there are a multitude of similar companies out there empower, money lion, Vola, brigit, Cleo etc. I will not chase down any given company. It’s apparent they don’t want my business. Be careful and be aware of a company who lacks transparency and does not strive for superb customer service. You have been warned!
