No longer supported

CC decided to go backwards in tech by creating a poorly designed webpage that is supposed to be user friendly. Because of this, they have dropped connection with other mobile apps and destroyed CC app.

To me, this is utterly insane. All the major websites have apps- Gmail, FB, eBay, BofA, etc. I work in the industry. My husband also works in tech and agreed that not supporting apps is ridiculous. Basically, instead of the site and an app conforming to what users are currently doing but making it more efficient, we would have anticipated new features that have requested in the past vs a “mobile version” web page. So it’s the users who have the conform to the change. Granted, there are always changes that you have to adapt to when there’s a major roll-out. But it appears that the project methodology (including business requirements, use cases, which can then be looked at by a talented UI designer) was a huge Charlie Foxtrot.

Bizarre graphic intrusions

I have been using this app for awhile, no issues. But they have started dropping irrelevant or vaguely related photos or other graphics into the listing of topic threads. I used to enjoy scrolling through topics in various areas of the blog, but no more! I have to keep scrolling past full-screen graphics when all I want to see is a text listing of thread titles. By the time this is read, I will have deleted the app. I did send a query to one of the admins asking if there was an option to turn off the verbal junk; I got no response.

Subscribed forums no longer works

The recent update seems to have broken the ability to view only your subscribed forums. When I look in the subscribed forums tab it says “No Forums” even though I have subscribed to many. Everything works fine on the website, just the iPhone app has this problem.
Overall I like CC and get a lot on interesting and useful information from the site. Yes there are some anal people who love to criticize newcomers or anyone who asks what they consider to be a dumb question. I just ignore them, most people are helpful.
