I don’t ever review mobile games but CSR is an acceptation. I played this game when I was in elementary, specifically around 2-3rd grade, now I’m 18. I have revisited this game years after years after years and it always hits the exact same. People say it needs updates n allat, no it doesn’t. This game is seriously perfect and far far better than the second one. No ads, can be played offline, simple racing, a very very good story and boss mechanic, loveable cars everyone can enjoy, this game just feels like the perfect racing game. I’m currently on Carlito which I have never gotten this far as a kid before and I plan to fulfill my younger self’s dream of beating CSR. Yet the best thing about this game imo is the soundtrack. The music is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO ICONIC that I could seriously listen to the music ALONE away from the game. This game is nostalgic, fun, entertaining, worth the grind, and can be such a place holder if you are waiting in like a waiting room in a doctors office or literally anywhere else. Yes I will yap and yap about this game I cannot get enough of it and I never will. I CANT WAIT FOR CSR 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IVE WAITED YEARS FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Funny fact the announcement of CSR 3 is the reason I came back😄). Is this game worth getting? Yes. Yes it is. Any age. Any gender. Any PERSON. PLEASE JUST GIVE THIS GAME A CHANCE ITS LIFE CHANGING
Look, for all the people that are whining about it, play past the first five minutes. Yeah, it "tries" to get your money, but I haven't dropped a single cent on this game and I've already beaten the Tier 5 boss. I have a fully upgraded Audi R8 LMS and I've only been playing this game for a little over a week. People need to stop complaining if they haven't even fully tried it. Yeah, it takes some patience. And if you aren't a patient guy, then you're entitled to not play this game. However, you shouldn't feel entitled to crap all over it just because you can't get past Tier 1. It's a GREAT GAME! Those of us that give it 5 stars are NOT FAKE REVIEWERS. So put a sock in it and put up, or shut up. I haven't had this much fun on an iPhone game since I first played Angry Birds. The graphics are amazing, the control is fluid and it takes some skill to play. The only gripe I have about it is the first delivery system where you have to immediately spend the 5 gold they give you. I wouldn't have had a problem with waiting 20 mins to get my first car, but they don't allow that option. So 5 gold wasted right away. The devs need to fix that, otherwise there's going to be a lot more crybabies cropping up that will give it 1 star. For those that are on the fence about this, you should listen to me. I'm a pretty hard core gamer and I haven't even touched my console or PC for over a week because of this game.
Very fun and addicting game, but I have a few gripes. First, I don't like that you have to wait for your gas to refill or pay 2 coins. The waiting for parts or cars to be delivered is fine but you should be able to fill your gas tank with cash too. Second, when the bosses offer to race you one last time for their car, it's impossible to beat them without spending $2 or $3 on that "boost nitrous" that pops up on your screen. And what's the point of winning their car if you can't sell it and get cash to go towards the next car you want? I don't want to race in some other guy or girl's ride, I want to race in mine. Third, the game NEEDS more customization features. It's dumb that all the cars in the game are "sleeper" cars. It would be nice to be able to at least customize the exterior of the car; body kits, wheels, hoods, custom paint jobs, exhaust, lights, etc. if this game had full customization I would most definitely give it 5 stars. Last but certainly not least, the sound effects for the cars. All muscle cars sound exactly the same, all imports sound exactly the same, etc. There are only 3 maybe 4 sounds for all of the cars in the game and there are a lot of cars. I know that sounds like a lot of complaining but I really enjoy this game, it's just too simple for me in it's current state. So Natural Motion if you're reading this; more customization would make this my favorite game on iPad! Oh, and I'd change my rating to 5 stars. :)
I've been playing CSR for a little over two weeks, and while I've never been much of a supporter of software with in app purchases, CSR allows you to level up and have fun doing it without the absolute requirement to make an in app purchase at all. When the moment does come to where in app purchases might help you out, you have a choice, and the choice is really yours, with no feeling that you're being pressured into making any given purchase just because you were unable to progress in the game by normal means. And you can entirely progress through the game without paying real money. As for the gameplay, career progression is satisfying, you can deplete the default gas gauge and earn a good amount of money for upgrades, and as much as $100,000 on a single tank when you get to tier 3. Advancing through those tiers by racing against crews to beat their leader is a rewarding milestone each and every time. As you advance to each new tear you get new ways to play and new ways to earn money to pay for those valuable upgrades, which make your car faster as you raced towards beating each crew's leader. The shifting mechanic works well with this drag race game. At the heart of every car is their desire to go fast at the green light in a straight line, and each car's speeds are matched up based on who has the better tuned ride and when see the advantage in speed you know who's been paying for those upgrades. Well I got to go, I want to work my way to tier 5. I will update this post when I get to the world tour.
This is a great game I love the detail of the graphics and how on point everything is.. 2 things I have a problem with nothing major tho 1. The mustang cobra jets time is off a lot it's a proven fact you can look it up that the mustang cobra jet from the show room floor to the drag strip in a 1/4 track does 9.09 at 150 mph STOCK nothing done to it in the game I'm not pulling 9.09 out of mine one stage away from being fully done lol I only bring this up because the car is so detailed from the way it looks to the way it comes off the line and lifts up that little bit why not finish it off by have it run the exact time it runs in real life.. 2. Is the race the world part I think it's amazing and the fact that you guys give out prizes during and after the tournament is great the only thing I don't like about that is the losing money when you lose I think that's bs I mean I understand losing respect if you don't have the blogger but the money you get for beating people should be yours you earned it by beating that person you shouldn't lose everything just because one person might of had a better reflex on that one race it's been so many times I've made it all the way to race 6 and slipped up on one shift and lost it all it irritated me so bad that I stopped playing for a while lol so I think that should be changed ASAP you lose audience that way but other then that the games amazing and I love it
Everyone is shouting fake reviews and whatnot so I'm going to give one from someone who played more than five minutes of the game. It is actually not that bad! I enjoyed playing through it and beat the entire game without spending a cent. However, most people are right. This developer is in it for the money. They've made a solid game with great graphics similar to last-gen consoles with the typical 'race to the top' storyline. This is fine and dandy but within seconds they're already wanting you to spend money. Need something delivered faster? Use an unnecessarily high amount of your very limited number of gold coins. Want to race more than ten times in 1-2 hours (the farther you get the more time it takes for gas to refill), use gold coins. Want to have your car tuned? Gold coins. This would be fine except you get 1 gold coin per level and 5 after beating a tier's boss, two things that just don't happen enough to keep your pocket full. The worst part of the entire game though was when you were forced to buy a nitrous upgrade to win the tier boss's car. I didn't like that very much. There are tons of other instances where buying stuff would make it play more like a game and not a once-a-day type thing. I do commend the developers for making it possible to play through the entire game without buying anything and I actually did enjoy the game quite a bit despite the flaws.
