What’s New

Version 29.0.1

Curio 29.0.1 fixes an issue with the composition inspector.

Curio 29 has lots of great new features including:

- Composition, Curio's most powerful collection figure. Unlike other collections, this über collection is designed to contain normal figures like text, images, and files plus collection figures like lists, tables, stacks, mind maps can all exist within a composition collection. A composition is made up of one or more independent rows, with each row having one or more columns, and each column having one or more stacked figures. You can easily drag figures around to create new rows, new columns, and rearranged items within columns.

- The Local library shelf now supports a browse mode, in addition to its Spotlight search mode. When browsing the search, scope, and other popups act as a file filters as you navigate through the file hierarchy. This new capability makes it easy to track frequently used scope folders such as an Obsidian vault or iCloud-synced folder.

- Sleuth now includes several new AI services including Microsoft's Copilot, Quora's Poe, and Groq. Plus the Kagi privacy-focused, subscriber-only search engine.

- The Search shelf's share button menu now has an option to copy the results as figures. You can then paste them elsewhere in your project. Pro users can even paste them as synced figure references so changes made to these copies will sync to their originals.

Plus more improvements including:
- Better Obsidian file support.
- Better DEVONthink support.
- Local Library now filters contents of iCloud Drive package files.
- Local Library's Spotlight search for file names is now using wildcarding to act more like Finder's Spotlight.
- Two new interface themes added to General Settings: Dawn and Gray Day.
- Improvements to figure selection glows and side resizing.
- You can now easily resize the last column and last row in a table by dragging its column or row divider along the edge of the figure.
- Much faster rendering when dragging figures, pinch or scroll wheel zooming, and brush scribbling.
- And much more!

And of course a bunch of fixes for all reported issues.

Great program with tons of options, especially if you need to customize your notebook

Most flexible notebook program I’ve ever used. I appreciate that it’s off the cloud as well—greatful for an app for people who simply don’t want their information on the omnipresent but cryptic “cloud". Curio allows you to make mindmaps, spreadsheets, Kanban boards, albums—I’ve never encountered a notebook that lets you do all of this in one program. And also determine the way it looks and feels.

For those not wanting a subscription, you can buy the app off their site. It’s not cheap, but worth it to me. I will most definitely support any developer that gives me the option to avoid subscriptions.

My Favorite Brain Storming Tool

I have been using Curio for over a decade to brainstorm, design, and create printable assets. I am a very visual planner and thinker, and the way this incredibly flexible tool allows me to create mindmaps, storyboards, and design documents very quickly is unparalleled. And my little perfectionist soul loves that I can set virtually any attribute—from the font, to the shape, to the layout, etc. It really helps my storyboarding process when I can steep my workspace in the look and feeling of the thing I am trying to bring to life, and Curio allows me to do that to a degree no other tool has. HIGHLY recommended for creative and visual thinkers.

This is truly a killer app

I've been using Curio for many years now and have gladly decided to pay for the subscription to it. Frankly, I want to support the developer who has made such a powerful, feature-rich information-management app.

If you haven't used Curio, download the trial. For creative types it's mandatory, for anyone who manages lots of digital information in many different forms (text, images, PDFs, video, mindmaps, tasks - all rolled up into projects), this is a game changer.

And to be clear, a subscription isn't the only way to pay for this app, you can purchase it off the Zengobi website for a one time price and own it without any futher cost.

Try it out, you will realize that you have a secret weapon in Curio and will then hope that your competion doesn't know about it.
