Amazing solution to keep track of client work

I absolutely love this tool - I've been able to keep track of my client work more effortlessly, and the ability to have emojis for each room helps me remember what is what (rather than using the generic icons). Also - I love how all the instructions are written in "human to human" language - to help people understand how to use the solution, but also to remind us that there's a team on the other end making fixes, etc. If I could give this a million stars, I would.

**The Missing Component for macOS**

CurrentKey Stats is the missing link that enhances the macOS “Spaces” feature. It enables users to customize the naming and assign meaningful icons to each ‘room,’ facilitating seamless switching between spaces from a single icon in the icon tray.

Moreover, it offers a comprehensive solution by tracking the screen time while in a specific room, which is particularly useful for projects billed by the hour or individuals monitoring their time on specific activities.

Its seamless integration is like a built-in extension of macOS, yet remains accessible for complete configuration via the icon tray, eliminating the visual clutter associated with system settings.

In essence, CurrentKey Stats is an indispensable tool for individuals who frequently utilize multiple separate environments simultaneously (I personally manage at least 12) and require a way to keep their desktop spaces and work flow easily accessible.

My Favorite Productivity App!

I've been looking for a long time, for an easy way to measure the time I spend working. CurrentKeyStats does this well.

It immediately improved my productivity by measuring how long I spend each hour/day/week working. I create a "Work" desktop where I do all my work and can measure the time spent there.

Also, I had a question about CurrentKeyStats and the developer was quick to reply, was helpful and very friendly. Using the app and the support have been a very pleasant experience.

Great Productivity App

CurrentKey is a great app - my computer desktop was a mess and multiple desktop rooms didn't help without a good way to organize them. CurrentKey makes that easy and seamless with my workflow - it's made a big difference in my day-to-day. It also provides reporting and stats that help me track my productivity without needing to go to another app.

The creator is also very quick and friendly in responding to issues and questions. Both the app and him deserve 5/5 stars!

Best organization app I have

I used to get my mac Desktops confused. Now I have an indvidual icon for each Desktop so I always know where I am. And I can actually tell how much time I'm spending on which projects and which apps. This has changed the way I work and the way I think about organizing for work. 12/10 would recommend!

Nice way to organize multiple desktops

MacOS won't let you name each desktop. But CurrentKey does. It's a nice way to organized applications. I've got 4 "rooms" set up: Outlook & iCal | Safari & PDF for reading | Reminders & Slack for managing tasks | Ulyssess & Word for focused writing.

In-App Purchase price is incorrectly listed

I’m not sure how they got away with this, but the app lists the In-App Purchase price as $2.49. When you download the app, it is $2.49 per month. That is a HUGE difference. I don’t mind paying for the apps I use but I don’t like a bait and switch.

"Hey there, I don't control how the IAP is displayed in the store.”

Are you saying you can’t control the name of the item that is being purchased in-app? Why do other apps have listed “AppName monthly” or “AppName Annual Subscription”?

Developer Response ,

[New update: the IAP name now includes 'Monthly' in it. That was a good suggestion, and thank you for the review! I take issue with the phrasing of the review ("got away" and "bait and switch"). I have been very upfront in description and in the app that this is a subscription. The store should by default add a "/month" after listed prices of subscriptions, and I was unaware that it didn't. Anyway, onward. ]

Hey there, I don't control how the cost of an IAP is displayed in the store. I agree that the store does not display the price well, but only the App Store has control over how the price is displayed. It doesn't seem fair to blame me for that. The very first line of the app description says: "CurrentKey Stats is a subscription-based app that helps you:" The app itself is also super clear what is being offered. No bait and switch here

I thought it would be useful “off-label”. but it isn’t.

The app is fine if that’s what you want. I downloaded it because it purports to let you name your desktops. And it does. In the control panel. but not on the desktop itself. So you have to keep swiping and opening the control panel to see where you are. I know it’s not what it’s designed for. but maybe it should be too.

Love this app!

Got this not too long ago to help keep track of my spaces, so the stats recap stuff is like a nice bonus feature to me. And now the app lets me use my own icons and I think that’s really slick. Cool stuff!

Good idea, poor implementation

I have no qualms with the statistics part. It (seems) to do its job and it clearly shows me where I have spent my time, but the association with "rooms" (a.k.a., desktops) is buggy and hackish at best.

At least under Catalina, it changes how OS X mission control works, yet is not able to name the Desktops everywhere.

If you have multiple monitors, activating the menu leads to "flashing" of the application in and out, taking five or more trials just to activate it. It's clear its hacked architecture does not really support more than one screen.

Given that the main purpose for which I got this app was to abe able to name the desktops appropriately (something that Apple should be doing), it is not working for me.

Developer Response ,

Hey there! Thanks for pointing out the flickering popover issue -- I'll address that in the next update, which should be out in a couple weeks, with some big features too. Multiscreen usage is supported but your issue happens to only occur with multiple screens. Sorry you ran into that.

-- It is indeed a shortcoming that Mission Control's Desktops can not be renamed, I have squeezed everything I could, functionality wise, out of Mac's Public APIs. I can't say I did anything wrong, it's simply not possible for an app from the App Store, or one that does not disable SIP protections, use private APIs, etc. to accomplish that request.
