Great idea covering four artistic realms!

The developer has worked hard in developing an art app which, on a daily basis, shows different paintings, sculptures, architecture, and photography. The big four in my humble opinion. I am finding it very interesting and informative. Try it!

Epictimewasting ,

Not a great 1st Impression..

.. Art may be subjective and open to various interpretation but principles of honesty and transparency are not. When an app registers and lists its privacy policy in the App Store as “data not collected” be sure to ALWAYS look at its actual disclosures. After navigating past an oddly and mostly unreadable onboarding process (text size was huge and unchangeable) my brow was further raised when I began reading through the *actual privacy policy. The app has a nice concept and a developing execution. Fair. The bait and switch privacy policy? Not a good look. 👀
——Update——
“By using the Service, You agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.” Do developers use copy and paste policies from the internet? Do they mean what they say? Why would there even be categories of collection, use, retention, sharing (with mergers, partners, affiliates, service providers, etc) where your data is defined as an asset of the company? This also implies such future handling even if not in current practice..
If word and principle matter to you, read the actual legal privacy policy, and test the easy claims.
Honor and a good name can still be lost even if “everybody does it.”

Developer Response ,

The privacy policy is not misleading. The app does not collect data and it is very easy to see this because at no time does the app ask you for any of your personal data.

Inaccurate and Misleading

Just got this app today. First time opening it I looked at the photo of the day: Peter Lik’s Ghost. The description did not match the photo at all. I searched the above and got a totally different photo, one that did match the description in this app.

So Daily Art posted the wrong photo. Well, that’s embarrassing.

But the photo was not one I had seen before, and I am well versed in this type of photography in this section of the world. I’m an adventure photographer and have shot dozens and dozens of slot canyons including the one Daily art says this picture is from. The depicted photo is not in that canyon.

And it looks…wrong. So wrong my wife who is not a photographer but has done many of these canyons with me just said, “oh, that is obviously AI.”

So I did a screen grab and image searched it with google, Bing, and a couple other sites. No hits. It is not Peter Lik’s. In fact, no one has posted this photo anywhere else.

So Daily Art not only just attributed the wrong photo to the artist they are discussing, but the photo appears to be a unique AI creation and not a photo at all. And this is the first time, first image I have looked at on their app. That is bad!

How can I trust anything else they are posting on this app now? This is rubbish.

Developer Response ,

Hi, the photo of The Ghost is correct and we don't use AI generated images. Thanks for your review.
