I think the free version (with ads) is better
I don’t like the subscription, but there is a free version (with ads, which is reasonable) so I don’t see why everyone is angry about the subscription, this is basically a premium version of the free one, and though multiple people complain about the time between and quantity of updates, this game is good and the updates are good so if it takes you a little while to update that’s fine. This is a great game and though it could use a longer story, I like what’s there, the arts good, hard mode is great, and the other modes are great just like the story on the main mode. As this is the premium version it has no ads or in app purchases, though it does have an subscription (as many premium games do) and as I mentioned multiple times, but you can still play a good game without the subscription by playing the other version.
Wireless Controller Support Removed?
So I’ve had this game for a while now. Long before the subscription plan in place. As a premium member from at least 2018. I played most of the game, about 75%, with a wireless controller (PS4). I recently wanted to finish the game, so I opened it for the first time in years and the controller support is no longer there. Now personally when I search for this app in the store two versions come up now I don’t know if that’s because I own the original version, but there is no mention of controller support whatsoever. Now I’ve tried my Xbox One, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 controllers and I am getting nothing. No mention of it in menus at all and one of the reasons I’ve actually purchased the premium version was because it supported wireless controllers. (Tinfoil hat ahead) If this is the case and they’ve changed it to what I expect to be a subscription feature and I’d have to go and download the same game under a different app to get this feature again even though I’m a premium member and had the feature before. I would have to say that a bit SHADY. So as it sits I’m a bit salty and this is why this review is getting one star 1️⃣ ⭐️.
It’s the definitive way to play… with some exceptions.
This game is basically the definitive version of the game. It has no ads, Barry and the DLC are free. BUT, some options have been removed like multiplayer and the events which gives you an insensitive to play and spend money on the other version. And this goes for all of the Halfbrick+ Games, mind you ALL OF THIS IS FREE. You can sign up to Halfbrick+ for free and play all of these games. In conclusion, Halfbrick is the goat of mobile games.
