*REQUIRES A TESLA VEHICLE WITH AUTOPILOT HW2.5+ AND AUTOPILOT + SENTRY MODE FEATURES ENABLED*
Watch three camera views simultaneously to quickly find clip you're looking for. Whether it's clips recorded while driving on Autopilot or clips triggered from Sentry Mode, Dashcam Viewer lets you scrub through all of your clips with a single timeline swipe from your mouse or from a Touch Bar-enabled MacBook Pro. You can also export your current clips into a single file for sharing on various social media platforms. Simply plug in your USB drive from your car, drag and drop TeslaCam folder into the app, and start scrubbing!
- Watch videos recorded from your Tesla vehicle (Model 3, Model S, and Model X)
- View three cameras simultaneously in sync
- Click on the finder icon on the camera view to quickly jump into Finder with the exact location of the file
- Export all three clips into a single watchable video file
- Tesla vehicles with AP2.5 and AP3 HW are supported
- USB flash drives with high read speeds or copy TeslaCam folder to your flash storage for optimal playback
(Dashcam Viewer is not affiliated with Tesla Inc. Autopilot, Sentry Mode, Model 3, Model S, Model X, and all other Tesla product names are trademarks or registered trademarks of Tesla Inc. All other company and product names are trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective companies)
- Fixed UI where Play/Pause states can be out of sync
- Date list now shows all clips
- Fixed playback speeds resetting unexpectedly to 1x
Note: Exporting HW3 clips was supported in last version, but an error popped saying exporting was not supported. However this is inaccurate. Export will only stop if the video clips had corrupt frames. I've updated the error message to make this clearer.
Ratings and Reviews
Works okay, videos out of sync
Not sure what's going on but this player will play back videos from different times along side one another. This is pretty disorienting and limits the usefulness of the app when it happens. It also freezes up for about 15 seconds when I switch from Recent to Saved clips.
It would be great to see some UI improvements in the future, including more options for the playback speed, faster UI overall, and a readout of the time of recording of the clip being played. It would also be nice to have a more standard UI where the controls aren't so giant.
In any case, this app makes reviewing Tesla Cam footage much easier. You can do a similar thing with ffmpeg for free, but the time savings are well worth the $5.

2.1.0 fixed the sync issue!
tedious to navigate videos
This app shows promise but needs a lot of work to make it more easy to navigate to different collections of videos. There are usually 10 or so videos from a given timeframe, but if you click on one in the dropdown it forgets where you were at when you try to view the next video in the series. You have to start over from the top of the entire list of videos in the TeslaCam folder. The videos need to be grouped together.
Developer Response ,
The videos are grouped together already. Slide the global timeline and you can scrub all 10 videos in one swipe.
Very Convenient and easy to use!
I'm new and did not get to see what the prior versions were like. But I can tell you, this works great!! I use a SD CARD instead of a slow USB Thumbdrive and my laptop is USB C so it is able to crunch a ton of video at the same time. The way that this caches the video at the start is awesome. It makes it easy to scrub through hundreds (it's probably thousands) of those little MP4 files in minutes. Thanks for creating this!
