Ratings and Reviews
I quit playing deemo like 4 years ago and decided to pick it back up for nostalgia. I was very displeased (more displeased at myself) how high the skill cap became. I could play lvl 8’s and 9’s and get full combo on most if not all of them back then, but now, it be a struggle to get over 90% sometimes on level 8’s and forget about it for higher levels. I think sweaty, skilled gamers have raised the roof immensely… I was also kinda disappointed by a lot of these newer songs in albums 3 - 6 (from preview) and even most of the songs available by the hourglass collection and shattered collection. There are so many songs that are too anime-y and kinda sound the same. And a lotta the level 11 songs are sooooo sweaty and most of them high bpm ear raping music.
With that being said, I still very much enjoy jamming out. Especially with the og collections and the albums 1 - 2 stuff. Additionally most of the songs that sound bad are the harder songs so im not too butthurt by it lol.
But what drove me to write this review isn’t all that nostalgia stuff. I thought I’d completely given up on the newer songs until they released a new banger album and the last 4 or so schlapin songs on the shattered 2 collection. While these songs are still matching the skill level of current gamers and I’ve never had so much fun getting shafted by a deemo song. I hope this marks the era of rayark hiring banger artists for deemo and cutting out all that anime weeb crap.
Buy This Game and Your Life Will be Complete
So, I actually started playing this game even before the full thing had released after a friend had recommended it to me (the game originally ended right after you grow the tree to its fullest height). And that was I think about 5 and a half years ago now. And I can not tell you enough that this game is absolutely incredible, and not a money waster. Deemo is a true masterpiece among games. The visuals are stunning, the music is gorgeous, and the story is beautifully written. The story progression is so well done, as you slowly unravel the mystery of the world you have found yourself in (the ending is going to leave you a changed person. And no, that is not an over statement), all while you get to play beautiful scores that feel like people put real heart into them. And there is so much free content, let alone all of the albums you can buy. Each piano piece you play comes with wonderfully drawn art. I guess you could call it the music cover art? And GOOD LORD just the game itself is a ton of fun to play. So, even if you don’t care about story in anyway shape or form, if like or love rhythm games, BUY THIS THING.
Thanks for reading, if you got this far, and I really do hope you get this game. You will not regret it. Trust me.
Been playing this game for over 2 years now
This is my favorite game, of all time, ever.
I got this game over i think 2 years ago and played it nonstop. The story is amazing and i hope to god that they make a continuation story in the future years. That said the gameplay is phenomenal and the soundtrack is so beautiful that you can get really immersed especially if you have headphones. This game will bring out your competitive side after you feel like youve gotten as good as possible you can always do better and the amazing people at Rayark have kept adding new content to the game so that there is never a dull moment. I have purchased most all of the DLC and have not regretted it. Each album is beautifully composed and most are extremely fun and fast paced. I have played Cytus, and CytusII, and VOEZ, but nothing gives you the absolute rush that Deemo does. The concept art in the game is the best ive seen in any game and i could go on and on about this game. I will be going to college to become a software engineer and it would be a dream to work with Rayark in the future. These developers have shown they really care about the quality of games they release and deserve the praise they get from us as a player community. <3
