Del Taco 4+

The app works ok for ordering most things, allows for food customization, and for choosing from several pickup/delivery options. Guessing it has a good internal user interface because when ordering through the app Del Taco has never made a mistake (unlike their main taco competitor). Giving it only three stars for a couple of reasons - 1)The app will not allow for ordering some food items, like the dozen tamales (when available, and limits one to only smaller portions). 2)Unable to use ApplePay - not sure what makes Del Taco think that I’d rather allow them to store my credit card or type it in every time over being able to use ApplePay. The second item is more of an issue for me, so if they at least fix that I’d give them 5-stars.

I used to go to Del Taco every day but the new rewards are incredibly lacking. It was common to see buy one get one offers that you could actually choose from. Now you have to use one offer at a time it seems and save it for use instead of just using it whenever - Then you get another offer which may or may not be good. Can you please bring back the weekly offers to choose from if nothing else? I don’t want coffee - I want food. It takes a long time to build up points that are worth less than the old offers. I have been a much less frequent customer since this started. I used to recommend to friends the $2 off $5 deal when texted but now that seems broken too. The first time I tried to load an offer to my order it didn’t work, the second time it finally did. I lost all of the previous orders from before which was disappointing because I like to pick and choose and the app still lacks Apple Pay or a better way to pay than manually entering card. The redesign looks fine (dark mode would be nice) and things feel like they run a bit smoother but this isn’t what your customers want. I rarely write such a detailed review but I really enjoy the food, being a frequent customer and this has been extremely disappointing.

I will give you five stars when I can use Apple Pay. Debit card transfers transfer information while Apple Pay transfers a temporary token and payment is settled later keeping user privacy. I would add my debit card but there is nowhere to do it. You have to do it after placing an order and then the app never saves it! For that reason I am deleting your app. When I see an update addressing the title of my review I will give you five stars and use the app again. Let me tell you how much I love Del taco restaurant. They grate their cheese fresh every day and cooked their beans fresh every morning. Taco Bell uses bagged cheese and dehydrated beans that they add water to. I was ashamed to work there. I could eat Del taco every day and I try to as much as I can. they give you lots of cheese and lots of everything for your money for cheaper than Taco Bell. Who gives you three little strands of cheese on your taco. The app has great coupons but is worthless to me because of the debit card/Apple Pay issues. Good luck and hopefully you will get better developers that can fix this problem because there are pages and pages of this on the Internet and then Reddit website.
