Doesn’t work at all

Followed the instructions for wifi app and connected to the wifi per the in the box instructions . However the app (despite being connected to the product wifi) won’t recognize it . Keeps saying the wifi start with a BT but the wifi starts with a number . Also the charger itself is way to confusing the manual doesn’t explain anything ! I can’t even find out how to keep it on despite not being plugged in, which mamps to choose nor which of the multiple power cycles I am supposed to be on. When you unplug the cord the device turns off so no way to charge the battery of your car . Awful product overall including the wifi

Works great!

I have 3 monitoring devices and 2 10A chargers. The devices and app have been working great for years. I’m not sure why so many people rate this so low. I did setup a 2ghz only wifi network for all of them, so maybe that’s why they’ve worked so well. I’ve had to reset and add my 10A chargers once or twice in the last several years but the monitoring pucks that plug in to the battery haven’t had any issues. The only major problem is that I don’t always receive low battery notifications. I really wish they would update the app and maybe add a refresh button.

Problematic with default iOS settings

Very spotting functionality upon first setup. I’ve found a few things that really helped.
Firstly, make sure the WiFi signal to the tender device has strong to moderate 2.4g WiFi signal.

Second, ensure the tender device is connected to a modern WiFi hotspot or router. Anything more than 3~4 years old will hinder connectivity. I had mine connected through a 6 year old router that for most things didn’t seem to care. However several mini smart home devices including the tender WiFi monitor had lots of trouble connecting during setup and then disconnected routinely.

For iOS users (latest as of Nov 2020) go into the app settings and turn off “Cellular Data” and “Precise Location” options.

With all of those conditions I get a fairly consistent battery level update provided I’m on a WiFi internet connection. I have a suspicion that if I were not on WiFi but turned off my phone’s WiFi and enabled the App setting for Cellular Data that might allow also Ellie normal real-time battery level updates.
