This app reviews over 750 public playgrounds in the Denver metro area, from Golden to Aurora, and Broomfield to Centennial. The free version provides names, exact locations, and photo previews of all play areas on a zoomable map. An in-app purchase unlocks over 1500 photos, ratings, amenity & play equipment information, as well as driving directions. Also listed are pools, creeks, spraygrounds, dog parks, sledding hills, accessibility features, and more. This project is an ongoing effort: I update the app regularly as playgrounds change or new play areas open.
If you choose to upgrade to the Pro version, a $1.99 purchase will be charged yearly to your credit card through your iTunes account. Yearly subscriptions will automatically renew at $1.99 unless canceled within 24-hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel anytime with your iTunes account settings. I really like this app, it has so many parks and I really like being able to search by feature. I have been trying to find outdoor parks with hockey rinks and this app has made this process much easier. I like that I can save parks to my favorites so I remember what ones I liked. They only think I wish I could change is I wish there was a way to add features. For example, Community Park in the North region does have a hockey rink. I know because I have been there, but the app does not have this as a feature so when I search for parks with hockey It doesn’t show up. It would be nice to have a way to add feature or to submit features to be added to continue to improve the accuracy of the app.
Best app I have
This app has been a miracle for our family! I have a 2 year old boy who is obsessed with an excavator we found at a park in Boulder. We live in very central Denver and any time I would ask him if he wanted to go to the park he would repeatedly ask for the excavator/digger. I have spent many hours driving by parks I found on google maps looking for diggers (all unsuccessfully). This app showed me where the diggers are and even “hidden” playgrounds in parks I wouldn’t think to visit. We found our “dream” park near our house because of this app. As a mom of a very high energy kid, I can’t thank you enough.
Love this app!
I have been a huge fan of the Denver Playgrounds & Parks books for several years and just decided to try out the app. It is fantastic! What an easy way to find a playground close to you when you are out and about. My kids and I have a goal to visit as many different parks around Denver as we can this summer. I love all of the detailed information. We can easily find parks with water features on hot days. It is great to have the kids unplugged and outdoors!
