Agree with Clapton500 and the app is getting worse
This is an ongoing blog of how lousy this app is... Agree with Clapton500 in Sept. 2019. Going on 4 days now of no access to the app. Were you hacked like Regis? Is your app support vendor staff on vacation? Or is this a low priority? What if your printing press was down for several days and you couldn’t get a physical paper printed? This is no different for those of us who subscribe to the digital edition. I wish the Rocky was still around so you had some competition. I chuckle reading my comments below. It seems little has changed.
Instead of reading the Denver Post replica edition this morning, I'm writing yet another bad review. Why? Because I can't access the paper again. Random login requests for no reason, the app stuck on previous day's paper, and needing to delete and reload the app in a feeble attempt to make it work...sometimes.
Memo to the DP: this really should be treated as a critical application by your IT department as I suspect this is one of the major avenues where PAID subscribers read your paper and where positive subscriber growth may still exist in this era of declining newspaper readership. If you continue to realease (or subcontract out) shoddy work in your mobile app, you will continue to lose what little readership is left. Please fix this.
What a sad app
Does anyone at the Post care that this app fails continually. For those of us that don’t get the physical paper, what are we paying for when the replica won’t open 1) because of faulty sign in process that requires rebooting 2) days when the latest daily addition won’t download and 3) now a message that says my internet connection isn’t working RETRY. Yet every other news app I have I can connect to. I would love a reliable source for local news. Unfortunately, the owners of the Post don’t seem to share that goal. What exactly am I paying for?
It’s not terrible when it works
When this app works, it provides a nice, convenient way to read the Post on my tablet. Unfortunately, it seems to fail about once a month, at which time I cannot log in. I have a couple of other things I’d like to see fixed before I raise my rating. 1) It is pretty easy to download issues for offline reading and I love that. But then how do I delete a downloaded issue after reading it? There’s no obvious method other than removing the app and all its data, then reinstalling the app? There’s no way that was the intended design spec. 2) when you attempt to contact app developer support from Apple’s App Store, the link is not valid! Please give this app the attention it deserves and fix these piddling easy things!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
