Description

Now with A1, A2 and B1 German Language Certificate Mega-Games, plus learning mode!

Der-Die-Das Train is a game of German nouns and their articles (der, die, and das) and will help you learn and memorize which article goes with which noun.

“Train” new German words and their articles in an engaging and entertaining way.

Anyone who is learning German or has learned German knows how difficult remembering “der, die and das” can be. It is the ‘bread and butter’ of the German grammar, however also the bane of any German learner's existence.

German Nouns and Their Articles

Each noun in German has a corresponding gender and an associated article that you should learn in conjunction with another. The gender of the noun (e.g. article) also determines many subsequent German grammatical rules, so a large part of German grammar depends on knowledge of the base article (nominative) of a noun.

There are general rules or grouping of nouns, either by subject area or by which letters they end on. As always, there are exceptions to these rules. These rules and, when applicable, exceptions are integrated into the game at certain points.

Gameplay

Explore the subway network as you discover new words, all grouped systematically and thematically for easy memorization. Topics are suggested based on conceptual difficulty, recently visited categories, and memory deterioration over time.

Control the train by touching the screen and ensure that it collides with the corresponding article of each noun that appears at the top of your screen. In-game translations (Currently English only.) can be shown below for your ease of learning and accelerated vocabulary acquisition.

Your learning is reinforced by each word being spoken out loud and with sound effects. The words, articles, tips on remembering the articles, translations and definitions are all easily accessible from within the game menu.

Play for hours without getting bored and demonstrate your German prowess on the leaderboards.

Download the app now and start playing today. You will be surprised how quickly and easily you will learn the articles.
