Design & App Concept Has Potential
What drew me was the whole aesthetic of the app: simple black and white interface, very gridlocked, and interesting new’s topics. A couple things that I’d point out was how the menu bar wasn’t fully considered length-wise. The top part of the app interferes with the default top bar that indicates the battery percentage and the current time and when the bar turns white, the top bar blends in, not allowing you to see it correctly. Also on the pages that have the top part whitened, the slideshow where the images/category topics slide with the designmilk logo. I’d suggest bringing it down a couple pixels and consider whether the color of the the top part will be black or white so you don’t run into that issue in the future. Also making sure that the logo doesn’t slide left with the presented category.
Content is great; Really sticks to the whole modern concept.
Another issue that I came across was when you click on the menu bar and choose to go onto the society6 link, there isn’t an actual way to go back to the newsfeed.
Please design a better interface that isn't so sensitive. I can't scroll down the home page without clicking on every article and having to return to the homepage. I can't use this app anymore because of this. I used to use this app as inspiration for my design projects, now i can't stand opening it because there's not very much content and it's difficult to maneuver.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
