Easy enough to use, but quality is lacking

You will not have a quality recording with this product. Pros are that it is super easy to use, audio is great, and export is easy enough. My major con here is that the video quality is complete garbage. Very hard to get across numbers on a spreadsheet etc.

Update: May, 2020
1080p recording is now default in the Devtendo client. Please try it out!

Jan, 2020:
Devtendo is exporting 720p recording. It's excellent for the dev/test and internal training use-cases the app targets. The Pro version will support 1080p recording. It will be launched later in Q1. Thanks for your feedback!

The Tool is Quick and Efficient, but…

It indicates that you can highlight items on screen, but I can't find that features. Are they in the professional version of the app?

Also, will the ability to size screen area be an option?

I generally don't want people to see my fullscreen, just my web browser or the app that I'm providing them info on. I currently use ScreenFlow, and have gotten use to being able to have notes and a timer on the side, so I'm still looking at the camera, but can make sure I'm hitting all the required points within a specific time, 3-5 min.

When you start recording, the annotations icon will show up in the desktop controller. You can use the icon to enable annotations. You can write on the screen, draw shapes, change colors, etc when you are in the annotations mode. Screen selection, and crop feature are coming in the next release. Thanks!

Great Concept

I do screen recorded videos for a living and the prospect of being able to mark up the screen is what made me give this a try. That part of the software is functional - but it automatically clears when you click off to get back to the desktop or application. So it's not useful. Yet.

THe other problem was resolution of the recording was terrible.

I LOVE this idea and hope that the developers keep on chugging. Hopefully build up the markup functionality and then sell to screenflow.

Update: May 2020 - 1080p recording is now supported. Please test the app again and provide feedback.

Annotations are for static screen frames. It’s meant to highlight something on the screen during a presentation recording or a bug capture. Our users are happy with the feature set and the use-cases mentioned on AppStore. Annotations when you scroll down doesn't make any sense because the screen may have a different context. It’s clear that you work for ScreenFlow and are leaving disparaging comments without any justification.
