DfontSplitter 4+

I don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth. This app allowed me to resurrect some VERY old fonts from 30 years ago and make them usable on OS X. And it's free! For both of those reasons, I am truely grateful.

When I attempt to convert multiple fonts, I get a repeated dialog saying that it a file already exists and would I like to replace it or cancel. It's a head-scratcher becuase it does this after all of the files have been successfully converted. I keep clicking cancel, but after over 100 clicks, I had to force-quit the app. The good news is that it converted the fonts. If I convert one font at a time, I don't have this problem.

Worked perfectly and did not crash (running Sonoma on Apple silicon). Highly recommend ignoring the 1-star reviews and giving this app a try if it suits your needs.

I mean, it doesn't really get better than this—it does a very specific thing, quickly, easy to use, collects no data, FOSS. What more could you want?

I was trying to modify some macOS system fonts, and need to unpack the TTC files first. I almost gave up after trying various command-line tools, including FontForge and FontTools which are both excellent for the things they do, but not suited for my purpose. Then I found DfontSplitter and it worked right away in converting TTC/dfont to TTF.
