Good Program so far. Helps motivate.
Just started using the program about five days ago. So far I like it a lot. It helps motivate me to watch my carbs. Also helps motivate me to lower my blood sugar. It is a brilliant way to keep track of all your data such that you can give it to your doctor at your next check up. It is fairly easy to use and instinctive.
Thus far, I only have one major complaint which needs to be addressed in the next update. When using the program on my iPad and trying to add a custom food, the pulldown menu will not let me go to the bottom of the menu to enter all the data. It keeps popping back up before I can select the data categories to enter. I also had a similar problem in the horizontal view when I was trying to view my total meals for the day, in the carbs category. However I was able to turn the iPad vertical and get enough room to see the last two items. However if I had added additional items, I would be unable to pull the menu down similar to the issue above. As of now and other than this, I have no issues with the program and really like it. I plan to keep using it. Please fix these problems and I'll change my rating to five star.
Useful, with plenty of room for improvement
Pros: helps you track blood glucose, medications, weight, carbohydrate intake, water intake, and more. Lets you graph history of these items (useful!)
Cons: User interface is clunky in many places (e.g., when keying in numbers, particularly blood glucose) or buggy (when inputting meds). Graphs are poorly displayed (vertical range and scale ticks are badly chosen); data in related time slices (of e.g., monthly blood glucose) are difficult to connect because of automatic scaling; yearly graph (of e.g., weight or blood glucose) merely shows monthly averages, but Retina display could continue to display individual data points. App does not respond to turning the iPhone on its side (when graphs could display larger range of abscissa).
In sum: I am glad I began tracking my blood glucose, and this App help me to do this. But the App is by no means polished and has immense room for improvement, including in the inputting of data and visualization of data. Because a recent update actually introduced new bugs (yet to be corrected as I write), and because of the user input misfeatures and mediocre graphing, I have to refrain from giving it a higher “rating”. The only reason I paid my $7 to upgrade from the Lite app was because the latter stopped working after a month. Bad scam, there.
Good, with a few tweaks could be great
It's a good app for tracking you're blood sugar and your insulins (although the logging process is a little glitchy. For example, you click on what your blood sugar is and rather than starting blank you must first delete what you were previously. If this were a wheel to select from that wouldn't be an issue but this is typing your sugars.) A lot of apps now tie into the phones ability to track your steps from the day. It would be a great feature here. The workout feature could/should automatically log you steps from the day and possible tell how that is affecting calorie and carbs. The last area of opportunity that I see in the app is the food tracking. I understand that there is a large library, but not everything is in it. And that is to be expected, not everyone can have everything. But why am I not able to scan a barcode to quickly get nutritional information from the food I am eating as opposed to manually entering it? This would be a great addition.
