Directive helps you stay up to date with routine maintenance to safeguard the important things in your life.

Regular maintenance saves money by reducing the need for costly emergency repairs, plus, it gives you peace of mind, knowing that crucial safety equipment is working in case of emergency.

Here's 3 reasons why you need Directive:

1. Makes Maintenance Easy to Remember
Directive includes dozens of templates to help you set up the maintenance tasks you want to complete. Then, it sends you notifications when it's time to complete routine maintenance.

2. Makes Maintenance Easy to Complete
Store details in the app like filter sizes, or the type of oil your car uses, so when the time comes, you know all the things you need. Plus, quick action buttons help you buy parts, find service contractors, or get instructions for tasks like testing your fire extinguisher.

3. Makes Maintenance Easy to Track
A couple taps let you log a task as complete, and Directive will keep a record of it, along with any notes you saved, and then set up a reminder for the next time it's due. Look back any time at your maintenance history.

Directive is available for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The free version allows you to track up to 10 different maintenance tasks, without any advertisements or nags to purchase.

Directive Pro is available as an auto-renewing subscription for a very low annual price (price may vary by region), that gives you access to Directive Pro on iPhone, iPad and Mac. It allows you to track unlimited maintenance tasks, plus, it backs up and syncs your maintenance tasks & history across all your devices. You can even share them with a partner. In addition, it allows more customization, like setting custom repeat intervals for tasks.

The Directive Pro subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours prior end of the subscription. Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. You may cancel or disable your subscription by going to your App Store Account Settings after purchase. You can find the privacy policy and terms of use for Directive Pro here:

Good start...

This app could hopefully grow into a very important part of my life. It's very difficult to keep track of all the different responsibilities of life, especially the ones that don't happen often. I like how this app allows me to set a time to be reminded and even embed links to complete the action so that i can just immediately start it as soon as it's time to do it.

Some important feature requests:
*Please allow me to filter by categories. (I assume this is coming, otherwise I don't understand why you would allow me to add categories to items).
*Please allow me to create non-repeating items. I often want to be reminded when to unsubscribe from a free trial. This only needs to be done once.

Great but not great

I bought this thinking that I wanted to be reminded of some things that are more than a 30 day cycle, but as far as I can figure out it is limited to thirty days. It would be nice to be able to set the days for more than that, like 45, 60, 180 etc. so I guess I use my calendar until this becomes more useful.

OK maybe I am not that computer literate, developer sent me a quick response with an answer to my distress. I know the error of my ways and like and support the app. I was using my calendar for this type of use until Directive came along

Thanks for the feedback. I think you must be mis-interpreting something in the app interface, as, even in the free version, Directive offers repeat intervals that range from 1 month to up to 5 years. If you're having trouble figuring out how to change the repeat interval for one of your directive tasks, please send us an email at, and we'll be happy to help.

Great concept, lots of work to do.

Conceptually the app is good. Does the job it intends but is essentially a barebones countdown app at the moment.
The design and basic features have some growing to do.

To start, Sign In with Apple and native account syncing via iCloud would be nice rather than account creation.

Visually the app is okay. I wish they would implement the following in future release:
1. allow customized color coding and sorting for each tag.
2. Allow toggling of dark mode (as opposed to simply following system settings)
3. having an option to customize “countdown time interval (I would prefer day countdown at all times as opposed to when it is under 1 month) .

My biggest complaint:
the lack of a “days” option in the custom repeat section. I purchased this app to track medication refills (e.g. 90 day supply). So I upgraded to the custom interval setting and sadly choosing “days” is not an option with the custom intervals.

Huge bummer I cannot use it for the main reason I purchased it. Hope this is updated soon.

Thanks for the feedback! I'd like to note that the option to set repeat interval for a number days will be coming very soon—in the first major update, in 2-3 weeks. So you'll be able to add those items that refill every 90 days. :)
