Disc Golf Valley 4+

I was completely surprised at how much I have liked this game. Most disc golf games are really bad. DGV seems to be the first game with simple controls and decent flight physics. I find some holes easy and ACEable while others are challenging and hard to par. I have purchased ad free because of the amount of playing I was doing and it was well worth it. I have purchased 2 different disc sets before I realized how easy it is to acquire discs, but I don’t regret the purchases and have fun with them. As I was shopping discs I thought to my self “I wish there was a driving range or even a standard hole you could play to test discs.” Well, they have a driving range and it is awesome to be able to try every single disc before you buy them. Great work!!! One of the most frustrating things is not knowing the landing distances throughout the courses. Every golf game shows you a range of where you will land at any given power. This game lacks that and makes it difficult on island holes, or tight OB holes. I had 2 birds and 2 eagles going into the 6th hole and went in water and then OB all because there is know way of knowing the distance of landing spots. Makes tournament, multiplayer, mandos, and the list goes on difficult. I know the flights of my discs and their distances. Would be a lot more fun to be able to know how far to throw a shot besides just where the basket is.

Disc golf valley a couple of years ago was a great passion project game that had no ads, it was really peaceful and fun to play just like the real life sport. The original dev sold the game to the current devs that havent fixed anything buggy about the physics of the game, instead theyve just made the ui worse, injected a bunch of terrible ads into every step of the game, and added an ungodly amount of micro transactions.

The competitive multiplayer would be fun, except in high ranks everyone basically knows the lineups for the holes, so it just becomes a game of rng. Accurate discs randomly get extra turn without wind or throwing nose down. Discs will hit the ground flat, almost stop, then randomly stand up and roll out of bounds. Dont even get me started on the stupidity that is the basket physics.

Originally my sentiment around the new devs was that the ads would be okay if they made the game better, but they have virtually just ruined what made this game fun without fixing anything that made it not fun. They cant even be bothered to correctly spell out patch notes here or on steam.

Overall the current game is a bug riddled, poorly optimized, ad riddled game with a terrible ui that gets worse with every update.

This is by far the greatest game for disc golf lovers. DGV has taught me so much about the sport in real life (e.g., how discs are “supposed” to fly, why all those numbers on the discs are important, what to expect from different manufacturers/plastics, etc)

I experience the same emotions on the course as I do in this game. It’s so realistic and fun/frustrating to play.
