Description
Test the performance of your solid state drives (NVME/SATA), hard disk drives and flash drives (pen/usb) in just one minute.
DiskMark performs real world speed tests and shows:
+ Sequential read/write speeds which is the performance you see when copying large files.
+ Random read/write speeds which is the performance you experience when opening or using programs that read and write a lot of files to disk.
DiskMark is extremely simple to use and invaluable if you work with any USB drives (flash or external harddisks). It also exhausts I/O buffer caches, resulting in highly accurate results which you can expect to see in real life. A history of benchmarks lets you quickly compare your own drives.
The latest NVME/M.2 SATA SSDs employ various techniques such as SLC caching and DRAM buffers to showcase better speeds. DiskMark is specifically built to take these into account so that the read/write performance reported in the benchmark is as close to the real-life performance.
Lifetime upgrades are included when you purchase the app. We don't have any recurring charges or in-app purchases in any of our apps.

Ratings and Reviews
Thunderbolt 2?
I like the utility for USB & internal SSD on my Mac but I’m catching the error about cannot work with an external Thunderbolt 2 drive. Hmm…is this not supported?
Elegantly simple and probably foolproof
This is a small application that installs quickly and seems to be depressingly accurate. If you are concerned about the speed of your hard drives—internal or external—you are probably aware that something is going wrong. This app will not tell you what is going wrong with your drive, but it will quickly let you know that in fact your drive is at death’s door: then, ideally, you can get all your data backed up in time.
The price seems reasonable considering how desperate you must be for bad news.
It can’t be used to evaluate a drive to which it cannot read and write, so it will tell you for instance that it cannot address your TIME MACHINE ONLY backup hard drive. “Controls” are extremely simple and spare: information is provided with little i-buttons if you want to get more background on a particular statistic.
Love it, a real disk benchmark app for osx
One thing that was always missing since I moved from windows 5 years back was a speed test app for my external harddrives. Although there were other apps I tried, most would just be a jazzy interface that gave highly inaccurate results. This is the first app that accurately test the harddrives and show them in a simple no-frills manner.
