This release is a huge step towards helping you to build your communities here on distrikt: Distrikts are here! Create your own Distrikt, watch as people join to share common interests, and grow together, sharing ideas about something you care about. Now you can build focused communities based on any theme you can think of! Your Distrikt has all of the features you’re used to on distrikt, and we’ve made a few small changes and bug fixes to make the experience even better for everybody. Enjoy!

We’ve increased posts and comments length to 600 characters! Polls can now have up to 10 options. Popular posts now show threads, and you can pin thread posts on your profile too. While you’re there, share profiles via simple QR code scan! Image attachments now support zooming and you have more formatting options when adding images to a post. To top it off you now see your POD NFT traits and rarity in the dashboard and can show off your rarity halo on your PFP! Oh - and we fixed some bugs as usual.

Bug fixes and small improvements

Introducing tipping: show appreciation for great content by tipping your favorite distrikt creators! To kickstart the distrikt tipping system we’re introducing a 12-week long Community Pool. Eligible accounts can use their allocation to tip whoever they please, so share the love and reward the content creators you appreciate! Enhanced NFT dashboard: distrikt wallet(ICP & ckBTC) plus added NFT support for the Poked Bots collection. Enhanced notifications: a better overview of your engagement.

We’ve polished, scrubbed, and cleaned up the app to optimise performance and squash a whole load of bugs. The result: speed increases and bandwidth decreases - a faster and better experience for all. We’ve also added Stream filters to help you discover new people to follow and keep up with the latest trends.

Bug fix for link previews

Want to highlight an important post that you’ve made? Now you can pin up to 3 posts to the top of your profile activity! We’ve also added link preview support to liven up your posts with links. For posts with multiple links choose which one to emphasise with a preview. A few bugs have been squashed and we’ve worked on tidying up some code to improve performance and tidy up a couple of visual glitches. Enjoy the new version!

Polls are here! Now you can add a poll to your post, including “multiple choice” polls. We’ve also added support for editing thread posts while compiling and a privacy switch to allow you to choose to hide (default) or show your external wallet addresses on your profile. A new “Popular this week” section on the Stream highlights popular users and posts, refreshed every Monday, to help you find new people to follow. As usual, we’ve rounded things off with bug fixes and performance tweaks!

You can now reply to comments, or reply to others, auto-tagging them. We’ve also added comment previews on Feed where you’ll find interesting posts that people you follow have commented on. Your own comments on posts now show on your Profile Activity and you can add your birthday day/month on your profile too and maybe get presents ;-) Talking of which, you can add your EXTERNAL wallet addresses on your profile for others to find too. Bugs have been squashed, performance improved.

We’ve enabled threads! Link up to 20 posts in a thread for those times when you simply need more words. Also new: repost counts, feed and speed improvements, “delete my account”, and various bugs squashed.

App UI refresh! Taking a cue from summer we’ve given the app a fresh new look, filed away a little more on performance, and squashed a couple of bugs. Hope you enjoy the new look!

We’ve polished up messaging: - Start or continue a conversation from a person’s profile - Notifications! The app will now check regularly and notify you if you have new messages. You can also now show off your own NFT straight from the NFT dashboard to your feed and impress your friends. No more screenshots needed! We’ve also made some login flow improvements, made post and comment text selectable, fixed some profile and image bugs, and polished performance a little.

Messaging - Yes, it’s here! Now you can exchange direct message conversations with other distrikt members. The only condition is that they follow you - “I follow you and so am happy to hear from you!” As usual, we’ve also polished a little more on performance and fixed various bugs too.
