Highlights for this app: Easy user interface (I didn’t need a training manual to figure it out!). Quick connections to external accounts (not just credit cards but student and personal loans too). I’ve always hated the process of linking each account; this took maybe a minute. I like that you can get quick information from the chat feature. But my favorite part (and probably the most useful) is that I know exactly how to tackle paying down my debt, by how much and which debt. I also can see how extra payments would impact me in terms of pay-down timeline and the cost of interest). This app has made me feel more in control of my finances.

I just started using ditch to pay off my remaining consumer debt and am so impressed with the UI! I’m 28, live in Wisconsin, and am an engineer and am working on a goal of becoming debt free before 30. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to set up payoffs and pick which multiplier I wanted to use. It’s so cool how Ditch looks at your prior spending to estimate what extra payment you’ll be making based on which multiplier you select! I also appreciate how Ditch compares my debt amount to the national average. It helps gauge where I’m at vs. where I’m supposed to be. I’ve really enjoyed Ditch so far and am excited to continue to use it in 2025.

Hey, cool idea, but I wanted to share some feedback from a developer’s perspective. I don’t understand why the app forces users into a subscription right from the start. While I get that you might rely on premium services (like AI integrations or Plaid), why not adopt a freemium model?It would be great to allow users to explore the app first, even in a limited capacity, to see if it meets their needs before committing to a subscription. For example, you could offer a demo mode to showcase features, like what the Copilot financial app does. Alternatively, you could allow access to basic features to encourage users to explore and feel confident about subscribing. Even offering a 1-2 month free trial could help users experience the app’s benefits without feeling locked out from the start.Overall, I think it’s a good concept, and I appreciate the innovation. However, the onboarding experience feels a bit restrictive with the current paywall. Giving users a chance to see the app in action before subscribing could go a long way in building trust and improving user experience.
