Ratings and Reviews
Easy to use and elegant
I tried out a few different free DjVu viewers but didn’t find one I liked, so I decided it was worth paying a few dollars for something good. This app is definitely worth it! The search function is great, the viewing feels very natural, and I like the fact that I can toggle between different display modes (scrolling vs. single page, sidebar off/on). Totally happy with my purchase!
DjVu Reader FS
This review is an immediate reaction to the initial use of this app. First, there is no tool or other means clearly available to rotate the displayed documents (typing “rotate” into the help menu produces no result). I can’t fathom how a developer can be serious in a claim that this is "the best application to read DjVu documents" based on this fact alone. Second, the forward/back and top/bottom page navigation arrows allow one to page down only. I have not tried any of the other features since I think these two defects are enough to constitute a deal breaker. I suppose one could convert the DjVu document to PDF, open it with Adobe or Preview to work around these two problems.
Clearly, If my observations are wrong about these problems, then my comments are unjustified; and I apoligize to the app’s developer and FirmShell Ltd.
Maybe the best native djvu viewer for mac
I’ve tried many djvu viewer, paid, free. This may be the best. Quick load, native feeling UI, retina support. I don’t want that much luxurious useless functions. All I need is just a functioning viewer and I finally found one. The other app I tried before even convert djvu to pdf first and open it in there (that’s why it took minutes to open a djvu file) which is ridiculous stupid. But don’t try to rely on this app to convert djvu to pdf. It doesn’t compress (which I understand) and the converted file is huge.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
