As of November 2012I left the previous review up just to prove that companies like Fingerlab, and Propellerheads really do listen as well deliver on promises, and often surpises when it comes to updating their Apps. But this review is about DM-1! This app is really awesome and Fingerlab has done a really, really, great job developing this app from the ground up. I actually create my own drum sounds on this app and then export WAV to use in Propellerheads Recycle to cut up and use in Reason 6 Kong nurse rex player. Some people will always say that music apps are toys, but in my view this app gets the job done and a lot more convient on the go then lugging around some big piece of hardware.Great job Fingerlab, keep up the great work!Jun 20, 2012Love this DM1, especially at 99 cents! This app is in class with Propellerhead Figure in my book but the difference is that DM1 has original drums sounds and can export WAV, Figure doesn't. I also love the original drum kits, but wish that they had more synth and noise tones that are tweekable. Also I would like to be able to use more than one effect in the X/Y pad(or maybe have 2 X/Y pads like in Alchemy Mobile). Haven't tried the Audio/Copy paste feature yet due to what other reviewers have said, but if it's an issue like others stated please fix.Overall great app and am sure that it will be updated to perfection soon. Just do me a favor and include more drum kits and sounds in future update please. Do that and I will add one more to star to the four you earned.
Almost better than a toy
planetarysun
The interface and many of the sounds are pretty great in a lot of ways. It's highly useable but there are a lot of little ways it could be so much better. It's almost professional quality but not quite. Some features I most want access to: at least 2 effects (isnt that the way it is on iPad version?), a mute button on channels in addition to the solo button already included, channel effect bus sends, reverb, a save button; *the ability to select any sound in the bank on any channel*, maybe even to rename channels; ability to load sample sounds. More sound banks, (I would pay for them), particularly covering acoustic drums and percussion. Maybe I am just looking for a different app. I still use it, but mostly just for fun. The amount of time spent scrolling through individual drum sounds looking for something useful is only barely worth the effort.
Am I missing something?
Black Oops23
Yes, I was missing something. Upon further investigation it seems there was, indeed, an "Audio Export" button. So, now I raised the rating from 3 to 4 stars because, 1) yes there are 99 pads but a lot of them are worthless and 2) Unless I'm missing something, once again, it seems you cannot adjust multiple effects. Meaning, when put the tab on "Delay" and put the little circle in the bottom left corner, for example, and then I go on the "Compression" tab and for that effect I want to put the circle in the top right corner, well that not only takes away the "Delay" effect, but when I go back to the "Delay" tab the circle is where I put it on the "Compression" tab, causing me to lose my place. (I learned to screen shot everything once I have it how I like it, but that does not solve the problem).
10/10 best drum machine app
Bobby safety
Buy this . This app will do odd time signature , you can step sequence or play the pads in real time . You can sequence lots of parts that make whole songs in the app .Works with inner app audio audio buss and every other app I've tried . Works on iPad and iPhone ( on iPhone it can not do odd time you are Limited to 8 or 16 beat sequences only but I believe it has all the same sounds ) .Lots of amazing sounds all the classic rap drum machine as well as modern ones . It has acoustic sounding drums and even tabla. I make nine inch nails sounding music and its very easy to do with the built in effects . This app should cost more money it's too cheap . I would pay $20 for this app its amazing . Zero crashes or bugs!i thank you developers for making such a great app
This update adds better support for all recent devices.
Stay tuned!
