Much potential, but so far to go…

I really like the ability to see tip outs and actual punches, and push notices for break periods are amazing. However, it lacks the intuitive UX that When I Work offers. So much so that despite the additional features of SpotOn, I would go back to WIW in a heartbeat if my employer was using both. Navigating to messages and customizing alerts is so clunky, it looks like it was designed as web based software ported to phone. I’m not trying to be snarky, it’s genuinely clumsy to use and contains confusing language that might make sense to the programmers, but not to end users.

The biggest complaint I have is the lack of calendar sync for iPhone, it’s 2023, I shouldn’t have to input my work schedule manually! For an app focused on the service industry this is a huge miss, my schedule is inconsistent week to week as is the case with most others in the industry as well.

Needs updating

The app would work better if when you scrolled to another app (for example my calender) to correlate when you work your shifts, & then you go back to dolce, it brings up a loading bar and then brings you back to the homepage (not where I left off). Why does it have to reload the app every time you click on it? Why can’t it just bring you back to where you left off? I don’t understand why this problem can’t be fixed on the app. It makes it very frustrating that it when I click back on the app two seconds later it first gives me a loading bar that takes 5 seconds and then takes me to the homepage that serves no purpose. It just has a bunch of check marks. Why can it not take you exactly where you left off like a normal app and not have to “load”. This feels like I am using the internet 10 years ago. Please fix this problem... it literally has a loading bar just going to different categories, making the app frustrating and not effortless.

If a time clock app was a Geocities website.

First off this is getting 2 stars simply because it is functional and it does everything it needs to do, but it’s a reluctant 2 stars. Beyond that it’s a clunky mess of a UI that looks straight out of 2002. Graphics are overly large and don’t align well. You have to scroll for everything. Selecting individual hours for requests and availability is ridiculous because every half hour is a touch point the size of a grain of sand, and that’s on my iPhone Pro Max. Why can’t you just have an hours drop down like everyone else? The app also forces you into landscape for certain actions, which is just a bandaid on poor UI design. The core functionality is there, but this needs a full ground-up Facelift. I cannot believe an app could make me miss HotSchedules.
