Allene - “I love this app. It's simple yet robust. I like that I do not have to link all of my accounts to track spending. I can input recurring expenses, easily adjust them, and I can budget. I like the future income and expense forecast feature. I've downloaded literally 25 different apps over the years and I continue to use this one with no complaints.”
Emily - “This app changed my life. Works great, intuitive, doesn't link to your bank account, just easy way to record all your purchases. I love the clean simple design. I've used it nonstop since I downloaded it!!”

Exactly what I was looking for!
Why aren’t more people using this method?!!? This is the best way that I know of to project expenses. We don’t get consistent bill amounts in a consistent manner. So without having that information, how can you anticipate if you have enough money for the next month? Just because there seems to be enough in your account doesn’t mean that there is. Especially when you factor in that there are five week months. On some of those, you get paid three times per month (factoring in bi-weekly paychecks). But what about the other 5 week months, when you only get paid twice? You still have two factor in an additional weeks expenses, such as gas and groceries. By being able to project out, I can make sure that I have enough in my account. I can’t say enough good things about this method!
Freezes and crashes constantly
I am pretty disappointed by the update to Dollarbird 2, mostly for two reasons: 1) the new interface feels like it had the purpose to look good with no real purpose. Charges are harder to find and the monthly overview looks jammed. 2) A bigger letdown however is how data is handled on Dollarbird 2. Now it takes a long time after launching the app until all data has been loaded (it appears the app tries to load the most recent state from the server every time you open the app). This makes the simple process to open Dollardbird and adding charge very slow and cumbersome. Additionally the app freezes (probably also due to server communication issues) constantly. All in all the previous Dollarbird was much simpler and faster to use and this version feels heavy and slow. I am close to giving up on Dollarbird.
Update after developer’s response:
The app works worse than initially reported by me. It consistently freezes (approx. 9 out of the 10 times I open the app and try to add a charge it freezes). It crashes often as well. And approx once a day it logs you out so you will have to log in again. The app needs serious fixing.

Hello! We appreciate your feedback on our app. Please email our support team at firstname.lastname@example.org in regards to the crashes and logouts you’ve been experiencing. A few details about your device and account would come in handy in identifying the root cause of this issue. Screenshots are also welcome.
In regards to your other remarks: Dollarbird is cloud-based, thus the little delay. Our most recent update aims to speed up this process by loading your details from the local database first. With respect to changes being hard to find: have you tried the search feature on the web app? On mobile, if you're looking for an entry from a certain category, simply go to dashboard, expand the category of your choice and see the list of transactions tagged with the same label. Selecting one will display all the entries and the dates on which you added them. Hope this helps. Should you need more details, feel free to explore our Help Center articles on help.dollarbird.co, reach out to us or even suggest features you'd find helpful https://dollarbird.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/115000082014-Feature-Requests.
Used to love this until last update.
So they fixed the app hiding old transactions, great! However, now the app runs so slowly I cannot stand it. It also duplicates transactions, or doesn’t add them at all. Seriously, whatever update you did a month ago, please take it back. There’s no shame in it, Instagram had to do it last month too. I don’t need to take pictures of receipts, I just need the app to work. You had so many good reviews for a reason, please don’t make me have to find another app!
I’ve consistently used this app almost every day for the last few years to keep track of my budget, but the latest update has me quite frustrated. On the calendar there are little circles on the dates to let you know you’ve missed a scheduled transaction. Well now when I go to update the scheduled transaction it’s not there, but the circle is still there! It’s frustrating because I have all my bills scheduled, but they don’t always leave my bank on the day I schedule them for, so I just update them the next day, but now I can’t see them anymore. If you please fix this I’ll update it to the 5 star rating it deserved before this.

Hey! We had a bunch of "New Year's resolution" users all of a sudden but we upgraded our backend system and things are back to normal. All of the weird behavior was caused by request timing out. Sorry for the frustration and we hope you'll revert your rating ;)
