Off to a good start!

The auto counter works pretty well for the most part. I love that the app indicates which pips it has identified and is adding to the score. This allows the user to visual validate that all pips are accounted for or not. Holding the phone still enough for the app to get a continuous/stable count is a bit tricky for me. It would be nice to have the option of snapping a photo for record and to simplify the counting compared to continuously trying to update the in real-time.

My family plays Train which is a different kind of scoring than what this app is intended for but getting an automatic count is a huge time saver.

Good, BUT...

I normally don’t leave reviews but I feel this app definitely has a chance. So today I was playing Mexican train game with my family and I always have a hard time counting my dominos, so I got this app, it scans most dominos well, but leave some out, it is also a pretty slow/glitchy camera from the app (I have an iPhone 12). Other than it leaving out a few dots and the glitchyness. I overall love this app and I feel it has plenty of potential. Thank you for reading! 🙃

Domino count scan not really that good

Wanted to build a scanner myself, but decided to look and see if any were available, and saw this one. Thinking it would save me effort, I gave it a try. To give it an honest run, I tried on different backgrounds, including solid black with white dominos for (what I thought) was optimum scanning conditions. As another had commented, taking a photo and scanning instead of doing it in real-time would probably help with image stability. Never really got an accurate reading I’d trust. Maybe it’s other functions work well, but as a standalone score scanner... it needs some fine tuning.
