Messed up order ended in wonderful service

I phoned because my order was sent to a dasher at 9:58pm. I ordered it at right before 8. It was literally medication for twin teething 8 month old boys that were driving me insane. Nothing hurts a mommy worse than that pain cry knowing there’s nothing you can do. We just got enough weight for otc pain relief and our county is in a red hazard warning for COVID-19. So this was disheartening. The woman who answered let me know the order was cancelled I had done that correctly and then went above and beyond and applied half of the amount with a $5 bonus to my account because of the time it would take for the larger amount to return to my account and to ensure the babies would be able to get relief in the morning ASAP. She didn’t question if I could go or why I needed it she just said as a mother and a woman she was sorry and would do what she could. Which of course made me cry harder because that is rare these days. So I would rate so far the experience excellent only because of the willingness to go above and beyond to do what is right and good, not simply what is according to the handbook and quick. The app does have issues and quirks to work through but I do insist that work with it and smaller towns such as mine will get the hang of it eventually. Again many thanks from my family to yours, you know who you are and I am so grateful. Thank you.

At 4:54 I placed an order for Chile’s to be delivered at 6pm, which is when my break was at work. At 6:10 I still hadn’t received my order so I got on the app and it was not working. I then received a text message at 6:29pmsaying that my order had been picked up. I got back on the app and it said my order would be delivered in 60 minutes, and I saw on the map that my driver was 40 minutes away from my location. I decided to contact support to see what was going on. I chatted with an “agent” for about 20 seconds before they decided to end the chat before it was over. I then received a call from a door dash agent asking if they could refund the full amount of the order and cancel the order, where I then explained that that was unacceptable because I would then just have to re order my food and wait even longer. He only gave me the option of refunding my order. I have had problems with door dash almost every time I order. The last time I ordered, my dasher smelled heavily of marijuana. Other times my dasher’s have picked up my order and then drove right past me to deliver someone else’s order first. I am a supervisor at a consignment store and I am not allowed to leave the store for my break, so ordering food is the best option for me. I will not be using door dash ever again.

Incorrect Order Functionality Should Be ADDED

I placed an order through DoorDash and it turns out another person placed an order with the same name as me. It has been two hours trying to correct the issue at hand. I decided to just go and pick up our correct order myself. The restaurant that we ordered from has been very accommodating and helpful. However, the DoorDasher themselves need to be more aware of which orders they are picking up and dropping off. Which leads to my next point, DoorDash should have an option through the App after the order has been dropped off “Did you receive your order?” Followed by this question “Did you receive the correct order?” With a YES or NO option. If “No” was selected, there should be an option to put in the Order Number you’ve either received OR what was incorrect with your order along with inputting your order number, from there it should automatically go back to the restaurant with another DoorDasher in route to pick up the correct order and drop off.

DoorDash has been great to use, I use it very often, but unfortunately this isn’t the first time that this has happened and revived the incorrect order or something wrong about the order.

From a customer standpoint I think adding in the Functionality mentioned above would be a great improvement to the App as well as provide better customer service as opposed to creating a hassle trying to get your order.
