Tried all local music players on App Store, this is the best
Raw Blow the actor
I needed a decent local offline music player and this is the only one on the entire App Store that checked all my boxes. I genuinely tried like 30 before settling on this, it’s really good. I’ve never written an app review before if that says anythingFeatures nobody else had in combination:Ability to add to liked songsAbility to bulk select songs to add to LIKED SONGS and playlistsAbility to export playlist file for backupCustomizable interfaceOffering a lifetime license that isn’t $70Not collecting dataPlease consider adding these features:Ability to export “liked songs” just like you can with other playlists A select all button when selecting multiple tracks to add Possible bug I encountered:CarPlay, if I hit the heart button, then skip to the next song the next songs all show as hearted. To heart the next song, I have to hit the heart button twice (unheart and heart) no big deal Thanks dude I was seriously about to pay the $99 developer fee and make my own freaking app
This is it.

I have been forever angry at the fact that the stock music app got ruined by Apple Music, at least for those of us who still sync our music. Slowly over the years Apple Music has crept in even though we have shut it off. Well, here’s the better solution rather than tolerating the ads. Doppi brings back that feel of the Music app before it got loaded down with subscription cruft. It works just as well with my library as the stock app and even lets you add to your library without a computer. It’s a beautiful app. Well worth the price. Thank you for saving my sanity.
Beautifully designed

I love this app. It’s not perfect and has some bugs but it’s worth it because of how it meets all my needs for a local music player. 1. Easy to upload music. It’s so simple and easy, no hassle like other apps where I have to link an account or go through hoops to get my music on the player. I can select a folder straight from my iCloud Drive and it’s added.2. Design:It’s beautiful. Big album covers, fluid movement between menu options and plenty of customization. All I like to see is personally are artists and albums tab and the customization lets you do just that! 3. Lyrics:Absolutely amazing that it can most of the time get the lyrics you want, and they are even timed! But if it can’t, I use Lyricsfy to get timed lyrics and simply copy and paste into the app. EASY. 4. FavoritesI like the ability to favorite songs on albums so having that icon is perfect. 5. PriceYou can do a monthly subscription or my favorite option is available too, to pay in full for a life time purchase. In a world of subscriptions, a full price life time option is so rare and that alone will make me always want to use this app. 6. Album coversI love how big the album covers are when playing a song, it using the screen to its full capacity and I appreciate that. FEEDBACK:1. Album covers:Some times when playing music the album cover won’t show when phone is locked - it just shows a blank album cover.2. Fonts:I like the big fonts but the names of artists gets cut off by the album title below or above it - making it difficult to read. A little more space between album titles and artist names would be appreciated. 3. Favorites:I do wish it had the ability to add a song to favorites from the lock screen but I don’t know if this is a native Apple Music exclusive feature. 4. Scrolling Delay The scrolling to find albums can be a bit sluggish 5. Album cover sizeI do wish there was an option to make the album covers even bigger when in your library and scrolling to find what you want to listen to.6. BugsGeneral bugs like some times the app will just close on its own or stop playing music.Overall this app is fantastic and I appreciate the hard work that goes into it. I hope the developer/(s) continue to improve the app. Thank you for giving this app to the world - it’s greatly appreciated!
No Landscape. Cover Art Wonky.
Jason Zimmerly
This is a pleasantly designed app with a good UI flow. Big problems include: 1) No landscape orientation. 2) With two track album files with embedded cover art and image file in same folder, there’s no consistency with when and in which list view they appear, even after refreashing folder population and deleting and re-adding. (These two reasons are why I requested refund) 3) If you put album folders in Artist folders in the Files app no files will show in app. So, no sub folder organization allowed? 4) None of my files have Album Artist in the ID3 tags but the app auto adds them. This makes info redundant and frustrating.Minor dislikes: 1) Paid icon selection have cookie cutter versions and rather unimaginative. 2) Color theme selection options are limited and basic chalky primary colors. Would be much more appealing if free options were rich and paid option was a color picker on a spectrum.I would probably give the app another shot if the first 2 or 3 problems above were addressed. This app has promise but current issues are disappointing and a deal breaker.
Fixes and improvements, like:
• Better Equalizer with Preamp slider and two new presets
• Improvements to playlist import
• Improved Siri & Shortcuts support
• Improved support for embedded .LRC files
• Support for keyboard navigation and improved hover states on iPad (huh)
• Full menu bar support on iPad, responsive to current cursor or keyboard selection (huhh)
• Internal improvements to Nearby (hmm)
Totally normal fixes and improvements here. Enjoy.
