The app is ok

Dorian in my opinion is a pretty ok app, people can make their own stories and upload their art as characters. Cool. My thing is, there’s no real explanation on how to get hearts. In the comments every u can constantly see people asking how to get them. Everyone’s theories on how to get them is different so it makes it even more confusing. The biggest theory on how to get hearts is by having people like ur comments but that’s not true. I’ve also heard u can get them by reading 3 chapters a day…which also isn’t true. There should be something to explain how the currency works. I’d happily watch ads for hearts. Like how in arcana u can watch ads for coins. And sometimes the pictures in the stories take a long time to swap to the next one, like a lag of some sort. The speed of when u press to go to the next scene is laggy too.

There is an 'Events' button in the header that explains how you can earn free hearts. Here you will find heart challenges in stories, as well as frequent events and writing prompts that have heart prizes. That said, you can finish every single game on Dorian for free! Great idea, horrible execution

I love the idea of a Webtoons style platform for Otome games. This has incredible potential. However, I fear due to lack of marketing strategies, profitable titles, and inclusive options, the service is not at all up to par. The avatars options are HIGHLY limited. There are no body type options other than “conventionally pretty/skinny,” and there are only 5 skin tones. Any coily hair options are behind a paywall and there are absolutely no clothing options beyond modern, western styles. Considering Dorian recently acquired an otome game that is known for its diversity and non-western styles, this is incredibly concerning. I have deleted the app after browsing the selections and being incredibly disappointed in the limited options on the avatar creation screen. Also, why can’t we create a non-female presenting avatar? I understand the app is for “female creators” but Dorian also says it’s for “under represented creators” as well. So in theory that should include non-binary/trans creators, creators of color, men who enjoy otome games at the very least. As of right now, this app does absolutely nothing to show that.

We're a brand new platform and the avatar system is just one of many solutions that we're offering to our creators. And it's definitely not our key focus because one avatar system will always be limiting. One of the biggest investments that took us quite a few months to support was enabling creators to upload their own art. This feature was released a couple of months ago and since then we've been actively working with a growing number of artists and otome creators to bring diverse characters and art styles to Dorian. You can enjoy such otome style games as Blue Spark, Codebreak, Midnight Lies and a few more that are coming to Dorian soon!

Fun and Addicting

I’ll be honest, I had no idea that this app even existed until the merger with The Arcana and FictIf was announced. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed on the app, not knowing where to start, but one of the mods in the Discord group suggested that we newcomers should try gehe’s Codebreaker series. Now I’m completely hooked! I can’t believe how much fun I’m having while reading the story! Codebreaker is one of the few dating sims I’ve played where I like all of the LIs so much that it’s really difficult for me to choose a favorite!! But, if I had to choose someone to ship with the MC, Bay, it would have to be Giara! I’m bi irl and Giara has all the qualities of my dream gf. A short, pink haired science nerd who calls me Senpai? She’s so perfect! Anyways this app is amazing and I really look forward to playing more stories as well as creating some of my own in the future!
