A Developer That Cares

Who knew that so many years later...an app you purchased from the Mac App Store would conitnue to see updates pushed out? That's the sign of a developer that's dedicated to their customers, but ultimately, to their creation.

Dot1xProfile provides a very low-level function and it's probably not needed by many end-users (most likely controlled by administrators using something like Jamf in the majority of cases), but it's a HUGE asset to those that do need it.

My hat's off to Mr. Diez for his work. Thank you for your work and your committment to us!

This app actually works!!! My MacBook would take several minutes to run through all the authentication methods ( EAP, LEAP, PEAP, etc.) I tried using Apples version of their server application to create a profile for wired 802.1x authentication but after spending hours creating a PKI authority, and creating unnecessary mess of my laptop by installing all the push certificates, I gave up. Fortunately I found this little application and created the profile in five minutes, now my MacBook associates to my Cisco AP using 802.1x authentication nearly instantaneously. I thought it was related to a wireless infrastructure issue but found it was just some trouble with the way Apple authenticates. There was some bug where I had to switch to wireless, enter in a bogus name and then it would create/install the wired profile, but a minor thing in comparison to the time and effort it saved.
