Welcome to a Groundbreaking Update of Dotsu!
We're thrilled to unveil version 1.14.1, our most significant update since Dotsu's release! With this version, we've completely reinvented our game's internal infrastructure by introducing our custom JSON serializer. This major overhaul in how we store and load levels has dramatically shrunk the build size by over 120MB. How often does that happen?
Here's What's New in Version 1.14.1 in detail:
● Revolutionized Level Storage: We've transformed how Dotsu stores game levels, shifting from BULKY Unity scenes to a custom-designed LEAN JSON format. This maintains our extensive collection of 420 levels while significantly reducing the game’s size, optimizing both storage and download times.
● Performance and Memory Enhancements: Our newly developed Unity plugin for level serialization greatly enhances performance and decreases memory usage. Levels are now lighter and serialized into plain text files, ensuring lightning-fast loading.
● Enhanced Battery Efficiency: The game now uses much less memory and CPU power, which means less battery drain on your device. Enjoy longer play sessions without battery worries.

Freely swap pieces across the board and trigger cascades with shuriken to a jazzy soundtrack in this uniquely creative matching game.
I enjoy these games, but not the bugs.
The game is beautiful. There are small errors that do detract from the experience. For example the help page describes the pulses as clearing a line, which is not what it does.
The priority of different combinations is not obvious. If you place a dot that creates a square as well as a line of 4 or more you don’t get a shuriken dot.

Thank you for catching the mistake in the help section. It will be fixed in the upcoming update!
Regarding the priority of combinations - yes, the Pulser will always take precendence over the Shuriken dot. We assumed this rule would be an educated guess in order to limit the tutorial popups.
Favorite Game (I Heart Strategy)
Check out Dotsu if you love fun and unique strategy games. I love its simply interface and originality and each level forces me to think in a different way to solve the puzzle. I feel a real sense of satisfaction when I solve one. Early on, I did not understand why some of my moves didn’t clear spaces. There is an info page that explains all the codes in detail to avoid that.
With most leveled games, I do well until I don’t—I hit a level that appears impossible and after a few weeks look for another game out of boredom because I exhaust all my ideas and can’t move on. But Dotsu has unique special credits (players can earn one free per day) so it is possible to hoard them and deploy in one game. Still, winning that game involves a mix of skill and luck.
There is no time limit (another bonus for me), and I enjoy plotting out potential moves on the difficult levels as I did when I played chess as a kid.
I think the game maker did a great job here and was very cool when I contacted him about one of the levels. I hope you will give him, his game and this small company (I think?) a chance.
