Sand drawings have long been associated with Zen & mindfulness meditation for well-being. Sand drawings also played an important role in the inheritance of wisdom and knowledge in some cultures.

"Sand drawings are elegant geometric patterns produced directly on the ground which serve to transmit a wealth of traditional knowledge about local history, indigenous rituals and cosmologies, kinship systems, natural phenomena or farming techniques." -

And who knows, it’s probably the monochromatic visual presence of sand drawings that brings a sense of pleasant and peaceful mind. It’s also probably because drawing on sand allows us to experience the essence of the nature, leading us to a calm & relaxing moment. While we can’t say for sure, it’s no coincidence when most people find positive association between sand drawings and mindful well-being*.

The simulated sand drawing effect on "Drawing on Sand” has been carefully crafted to present a slightly distant perspective, allowing you to observe your sand drawings like viewing your thoughts from a distance.

"Drawing on Sand" dosen't limit you to drawing with your fingers. We have explicitly implemented a simulated “Sand Pendulum” based on true physics. You can let the app elegantly produce line patterns like a sand pendulum does. Simply tap on the lower left pendulum and it will move to the centre. You can then drag the pendulum to a desired direction, release, and watch as the pendulum sways and draws.

”Drawing on Sand” also brings you an unique immersive experience by allowing you to replay your latest hand drawing stroke by stroke. While some people find watching sand pendulum may inspire calm and concentration, we hope to further elevate the inspiration by allowing you to watch your own sand drawings replaying.

Experience your own sand drawings now.

* Carefully crafted sand drawing effect
* Physics based "Sand Pendulum” simulation
* Stroke by stroke replay for the latest drawing
* 3 levels of depth effects

* Tap anywhere on the sand to stop sand pendulum
* Replay feature does NOT replay pendulum created patterns
* 3 levels of depth effects can be adjusted in system Settings app
* Subjective feelings vary depending on individual

Good, but pretty boring.

It's not a bad app, but it's just not worth $0.99.

No functional point to this app

I was looking to create some pics of phrases in the sand for a slide show but you can't even save the "drawings" you create with this app. What's the point of having a save button? And what's the point of this app - just to watch yourself draw in the sand? Pointless! There should be some sort of menu option or help prompt to figure out how to use this app, but again there doesn't appear to really be any functions to explain other than how to remove it from your phone. Delete!

The sand needs to be deeper! Like I can barely see what I'm doing I mean its cool but boring and each drawing should be able to be saved to your pictures!!! :P
