Here’s what you can find in your app:
Your night card: Everything you need to understand your sleep sent to your phone every morning, including: how long it took to fall asleep, how many times you woke up, total sleep duration, sleep efficiency etc…
The hypnogram: A minute-by-minute view of your night, that shows you your changing sleep phases, heart rate, sleep position…
Personalized insights: Cards that point out your sleep’s patterns and trends, helping you to better understand your sleep and track your progress over time.
Coaching programs: A library of sleep restructuring programs of varying length and intensity, designed to help you address your sleep problem:
Sleep Restructuring- our most advanced program for people who often find it hard to fall asleep or wake up several times during the night. Through a series of sleep consolidation exercises, and to-do lists, Sleep Restructuring helps you achieve a good “sleep efficiency” ratio between the time spent in bed and time spent asleep.
Winning Back Sleep- for those with a significant sleep debt, that’s to say people who don’t sleep enough without any real sleep problem, Winning Back Sleep helps you make the most of your sleep.
Rituals- helps people who have occasional difficulty sleeping, Rituals helps spot sleep-damaging habits, before helping you put in place a new healthier sleep routine.
Sleep Basics- for people who would like to better understand their sleep and learn some new sleep habits to put in place for better, more peaceful sleep.
Setting your nights: This app allows you set your audio features: A library of falling asleep relaxation techniques and a Smart Alarm.
Dreem Coach store the sleep data entries retrieved from the Dreem Headband to HealthKit in order to let you see them directly in the Apple Health app. Also, Dreem Coach never collects your personal health data.

Useful app, sometimes a little buggy
I have improved my sleep because of the Dreem headband. My only issue with the app is that when it asks me questions or I interact with certain content (during the sleep restructuring program, for example), it doesn’t seem to recognize my feedback or the fact that I have viewed/read that content the first time around. For example sometimes I’ll wake up earlier than my planned alarm and it asks me for the reason why. I answer the question but the question persists on my home screen and I have to answer it a second time before my sleep card about the night is generated. With the sleep restructuring program, the app didn’t always seem to recognize that I read or watched the content for the day unless I went through it a second time. This is kind of irritating and the only room for improvement with Dreem I would suggest—otherwise I am happy with the product.
Constant WiFi errors, app now crashes on setup
I used Dreem for about a month with decent success before the issues became constant. For whatever reason, the headband requires a connection to WiFi in order to work. Even when it’s not syncing. I was totally unable to use the device after it started hitting me with “Unable to connect with wifi” errors. Seriously, the hardware should be able to do its work offline, especially if the app/device is too buggy to reliable work with WiFi. (Tried with multiple routers.)
After taking a long break from fighting with the thing, I’ve recently tried to set it up again. I had the same issues, but now it’s gotten even worse. The app was unable to detect any WiFi networks. The “reset to factory settings” button seems to do nothing. I deleted and reinstalled the app, and now i can’t even get through the onboarding screens because it crashes as soon as it gets to the WiFi step.
Truly miserable experience for an expensive device. And the app hasn’t been updated in 4 months? So close to being great, but hugely disappointing in the end.
For those of us with sleep issues, what an excellent product. I can challenge my subjective sense about how my night was with objective data that I couldn’t have any other way short of a sleep study (since Fitbits and Garmins and any wearable without EEG sensors is just approximating stages of sleep not measuring it).
The company is responsive. My first device broke prematurely. They shipped out a new one without waiting for me to even ship back the first.
I haven’t completed the CBT-I program but I did start it. And what other wearable is so committed to getting to your sleep goals that they actually give you Zoom time with a sleep psychologist ?
The UI could be improved. And I would live for additional functions, like O2 saturation monitoring. But this device way serves its purpose. And just as importantly, I sense this company will keep improving this because they seem very committed to helping us solve our problems, not just sell us another electronic...
