Crash upon other device on network

If there is another DMX/Artnet device on the same network (in this case Enttec Storm 8), the app crashes unfortunately.
Can this be fixed?

I love everything about this lighting control!

I use this app with 2 Digital Sputnik DS1 units via an old iPad Mini and iPhone 8. It took a little time and study to get setup the first time, but is bulletproof once everything is powered up and has worked flawlessly for me for hundreds of shoots.

I have one of my two DS1 PSUs set up as a WiFi access point, so the other light, iPhone, and iPad connect to it and everything works. The DS1 is a pretty powerful access point, so the connection is instant and reliable (I was pretty nervous about it the first couple productions, WiFi can be so buggy, but it works great).

I use several scenes to save studio setups and cool mixes for both heads and have quick access to individual control too. I have a setting, for example, that color matches the DS1s to Litemat, another few that save color effects I use frequently.

Fun fact, the app has an extensive list of gels included, accessible by holding one of the color options for a couple seconds. Unlike some other gel-equipped LED lights, the density of the color effect can be dialed in from 0-100% or tweaked for color or underlying CCT.. super cool. I often give them a few percentage points of “Straw Tint” for a little warmth.

I look forward to adding more heads..

Two minor complaints would be 1) it would be cool to have the option to save or share setups.. for example to quickly pass along my set up and scenes to a gaffer at the beginning of a shoot to use on her/his phone or tablet 2) I wish I could add other brand heads for control, like my Litepanels Gemini or the Skypanels we rent. This may be possible with some sort of DMX nerd shenanigans, but I haven’t cracked the code yet. (want to just make a panel already, Digital Sputnik? 😁

Developer Response ,

Thank you for feedback. You can share your saved scenes with other devices using AirDrop. Navigate to Load scene page and touch and hold on scene you want to share with another device. Popup appears which shows AirDrop option. Both devices need same version of the app to work correctly. Another option is to use iTunes. Open iTunes, select your device, select File Sharing and select app. Now you can see a list of saved scene files which you can save and then add to another device. Take care not to delete or overwrite existing scene files. DMX logic can be confusing. Release notes section describes DMX options. Someone with DMX experience can help you with the setup if you want to explore this option.
